As me and Carter check in our bags at the Melbourne airport, on our way to see our dad, who I may add left my mum when things got tough. And is now married to Miss perfect with the perfect son; Maddox.Everyone thinks he is gorgeous, but I can't see it. All I can see is the snob he is. Same with his mum; Karen. She is such a cow. How could you seriously want a divorced man as a husband, who had children with another woman? And he is so ugly and the last time I saw him he smelt like liquor and marijuana and I was 12. 'People change' so my mum says. So dad and Karen got married late last year, and Carter and I, only got told when dad invited us over to the big city, Perth. Yeah, he moved away from us he so didn't have to see how much of a failure his ungrateful twins are, well one of them anyway. I personally don't want to see him but I'm going for Carter, anything that includes dad, I do for Carter. I would move moons for Carter. He's my twin, I love him to much. I owe it to him.
I am rudely interrupted by the woman behind the desk telling me to move so she can serve the old guy behind me, I squint my eyes to get a better look at her name tag, Polly, of course it is, she is a bitch and Polly is a bitch name. As I give her one last glare I turn around to be stopped by a hard chest which sends me tumbling to the ground. Landing on my butt, it hurts more than I thought it would. I'm about to say a smart remark but when I look up, the only words that runs through my mind is OH MY GOD!! Standing a foot away from me stands a boy, who looks around my age staring at me. I take a few seconds to take in his appearances. He is tall, with long tanned legs which are covered by his beige shorts that stop just on top of his knees. Oh God! His legs look smoother than mine. One of his hand is reaching out in front of me offering to help me up, while the other is up scratching his perfect shaggy blonde hair, lifting up his shirt a little giving me a glimpse of his toned torso. As my eyes reach his face, I feel the heat become on my own. His eyes are a lite shade of green, which are sparkling from the light above, his smile is brighter than my future and he has the perfect eyebrows. I take his hand into my own and he pulls me up with no effort what so ever.
"Sorry about that, I am best known for knocking girls off their feet." He's looking at me full seriousness before he burst out in a smile. He pulls me to the side so we don't get in the way of Ms bitchface. "My name is Nicholas, I am truly so sorry for knocking you over. I was dreaming about reading back home, instead of being here catching a flight to my grandmas who I haven't seen in like 3 months, but of course my parents want to go to LA for another holiday without me." His smile falls into a frown, "I'm sorry you probably didn't want to know that."
"It's okay, I'm Evelyn and this is my brother Carter..." I turn around and I can't see Carter anywhere. Glancing back to Nicholas who is staring at me strange. "I guess his already left for the terminal."
"That's okay, can I walk with you, I saw your plane ticket in your hand and we are catching the same flight." I forgot all about the plane ticket in my hand. Holding it up as he holds up his, I see that we are actually are on the same flight.
"Look at that! We are even sitting together," I glance down and there it is, 28f and 28e, Carter must be 28d. My attention goes back to him which he is walking, wait so am in. When did we start walking? I look ahead to see where we are going but it's all changed since the last time I was here. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable when he asks, if I'm okay. Looking back I find he is staring at me with concern in his eyes.
"Yeah, just a little nervous." it's not a complete lie, but I still feel bad for lying to him. Wait! I don't even know this guy. And I'm trusting him to take me to the terminal for a 2 hour wait until we actually board the plane. Why couldn't Carter have waited for me? Where is he? Pulling my phone out of my back pocket to realise it's smashed . Now I know why my butt hurts so much. I unlock my phone, and call Carter. But before I even get a chance to press call, my phone dies.
"...they mov... broo, what happened to your iPhone 7+, I've still got the 4 and I still haven't smashed it and I've had it for like a year now." Okay make me feel worse, I've had this for less than 2 weeks. Mums would kill me, if she was here. I just want to neck!
"Why do you want to neck?" Nicholas stops and looks at me. I really need to stop saying what I'm thinking out loud. "I'm going to my dad's." I say with a bit too much hate. We start walking again, before I know it we have reached the terminal, it is full of people. it has a big glass window looking out to the runway and navy blue seats. I spot Carter on the back wall, playing on his phone. I walk over to him not knowing that Nicholas has followed.
Carter looks up as I sit down next to him. I go to say something about Nicholas when I see him standing in front of me. I introduce them to each other and they kick off straight away talking about hot babes and motorbikes. Which takes me by surprise, Nicholas doesn't seem like the kind who would ride, to be completely honest I thought he was into surfing and the water. I end up going to the toilet to waste time and check up if the hour worth of makeup is still in tack. Some old lady has taken my seat when I arrive back and is peacefully sleeping. The only empty seat is next to Nicholas, I hesitate before sitting down. I grab my Did I Mention I Love You book out of my handbag and start reading. Managing to read half way through the second chapter, I am interrupted by Nicholas, "Do you hate your dad?" The question catches me off guard, who asks that kind of question in the middle of an airport. He looks at me with concern in his eyes, I end up giving him the whole story which I don't finish until we are half way across the country on the plane. We chat for a little longer until we have nothing to talk about, I look to my right to Carter but he is knocked out. He is sitting the row next to me. Grabbing my handbag from under the seat in front of me. I search for my iPod through all the papers and crap in my bag until I pull it out to find it has died. Chucking my handbag back under the seat in front of me, I notice Nicholas looking at me in the corner of eye as he passes me one of his earphones. I take it with a small smile on my face, pushing my black curls behind my ear and place it into my ear. I mutter a thank you, and the beat of the music starts to play, I know this song. It's Blackbear; What It Is. I turn my head in his direction and grin, he smiles back when he realises that I know who the artist is, it's blackbear. Out of all my friends, no one has even heard of him and when I show them one of his songs they never like him back. We look at each other a laugh quietly. We end up talking all the way to Perth, with Blackbear playing in the background. I have found a lot more of his life and he has me, we have many similar likes and dislikes. We both don't like pizza but will eat it if we have too. We both like the same song, Nyla by Blackbear, and we both are born in May. I don't think this flight could get any better.
