The Night Part I

     I woke up to the sound of crackling leaves. She still lie there asleep in my arms. It was dark outside, with only rays of sun stretching to the earth. I sat up  to stretch gently, but she still woke up.

     "Hey." She groaned. She obviously was only half awake. She slithered up into me. "Thank you. For us only knowing each other for less than a week, we're good friends." Ugh. that word. I want to stab that word. I held her in my arms, as a friend. I don't know if I love her. But I love the thought of her. Just being around her is intoxicating. She makes me feel alive. We may not be like that  but we were more than friends. My man period kicked in right then and there (yes, it gets that much worse) .  But my tampon was on its way and I set off after it.

     "Let's go out tonight." she looked me in the eye.

     "Like a date?" I was amazed at that question. My conscience was saying words that douche hole would back hand me for saying. My body, on the other hand, was saying no, so I said;

     "No, like an adventure. Lets go into town. Get drunk, get tattoo's or burn down an Araby's!"

     "Is all pf the above an option?" she replied.

     "Let's find out."

     We set off hand in hand to the more modern part of town. Bars and crappy playgrounds as far as the eye can see. Craev (Crave), a new night club had music leaking down the street.  Obviously we were under aged, but a box of matches and a trash can can work miracles.

      We headed over to the club and lit one of the boy scout matches (Yes I was a boy scout for three weeks and got kicked out for telling the den mother to "Frick" off.) The trash caught fire. and we ran for the hills. The bouncer ran out and we ran in.

     The music blared through subs on the ceiling. Pumped Up Kicks destroyed the dance floor as kids forgot about how terrible the world is. It looked fun.

     "I don't about this." Adara looked scared. She didn't like the unknown. The unknown of her mom in the hospital. She didn't even have enough courage to be there with her. Because the thought of the unknown hurt her.

     I stared at those eyes. Her blue, ocean like eyes. She looked back at me. She questioned herself.

     "All the other kids with the pumped up kicks better run better run, out run my gun, all the other kids better run better run, faster than my-" she yanked me in. I kissed her.

     She kissed back.
