A car rumbled down the streets of another world. A place that seemed long forgotten but just never got its time in the spot light. The town could have stretched for a million miles, but a whisper was still heard by everyone. Joshua hated the chatter. He just wanted silence and a small place to call home.

"At least she hasn't spoken yet" I thought. My mom sat stone cold next to me. This would be our first real home. I had lived in many houses, but none that were actually his. I finally had a reason to believe the agonizing pattern of backseat bedrooms and another man's couch had stopped. A top floor apartment in a complex that reached out for about the size of two football fields. Large pool, a small recreational area complete with a run down gazebo. I saw it all be fore we parked."Josh-" My mom started to speak. "Sue, just stop. I'm a senior this year, so let's just leave each other alone until I make it out of this crap life with you." She looked down and marched to the front of the building. I stayed in the car. I refused to call her mom after the hell she put me through. She disappeared through the building entrance and i began to walk in. Dad wasn't much of a lesser evil. The occasional card was nice. It didn't make my life go any easier. He left my mom for a better world. And then in was born into this pathetic one. The people I met their changed my life. It was my new world. A new hello.
