Karma Pov
I looked down on the headstone that has just been placed on my mom's grave. I smiled at hit a little. I squatted down and touched it. I felt a tear come down my cheek. I shook my head at the thought of her not seeing her grandbaby.
"Karma," I heard a familiar voice whisper. I didn't dare loom behind me. I started crying harder. My cries turned into soft sobbs. My soft sobbs turned into loud sobbs.
I felt warm arms wrap around me. I didn't care who it was I just cried in their arms.
"It's okay," the voice said rubbing my back. I knew this voice. It was Jacob. I lifted my head and he looked down on me with sympathy in his eyes.
"No it's not," I said hugging him tight. He rested his cheek on top of my head.
"Remember you said that I had to stay strong for my nieces," he whispered. I nodded. His nieces had gotten in a fire when they were out camping in the woods with their summer class. The teacher put more of the fluid in the fire and the girls was sitting right there. The fire got out of hand and the teacher ran. The girls didn't understand. They caught on fire and the teacher gathered the kids as the girls tried to get away. But it was to late.
"Yea," I looked up to him.
"You have to be strong too," he said looking at me. I nodded. He then kissed my cheek and he looked at the headstone.
"She could use some flowers don't you think," he cooked his head to the side. I smiled and nodded. He unwrapped his arms around me and then helped me up.
"Come on Karmax," he said using his old nickname for me. I smiled and took his hand and pulled myself up.
"Do you need a ride," he asked.
"No I took the bus," I shook my head.
"So you need a ride," he said matter-of-factly.
"No," I shook my head.
"C'mon I'll take you home," he grabbing my arm. He opened the door for me and I got in. He got in the passenger's side and drove off.
"So I heard you and Iyanna got into it," he chuckled. I knew he wanted something.
"Yea and," I smacked my lips.
"And it was over that dude," he smacked his lips back. I laughed to my self. He just thinks he knows ever fucking thing.
"You and Iyanna don't know a damn thing," I raised my voice a little. He laughed a little and looked at me.
"He got something you want," he smirked. I know he ain't serious. The only thing he got that I want is his power of being a father figure to my I unborn baby.
"No," I folded my arms.
"Then you hiding something," he stopped the car. Technically I'm not hiding anything.
"I'm not," I mumbled.
"Aww are you pregnant," he said in a baby voice. I looked at the floor. I had nothing to say about that.
"Your kidding," he laughed. I stayed silent.
"Karma he could be he could eve-," I cut him off.
"YOU DON'T KNOW A DAMN THING ABOUT AUGUST. YOU HE'S NOT CHEATING FOR THE LAST DAMN TIME! I LOVE HIM CAN'T Y'ALL EXCEPT THAT!" I yelled holding my head. Before I knew it I was walking down the street with Jacob calling after me.
I finally stopped and when I did I didn't know where I was. I heard gun shots and I ran back to where Jacob was to make sure he was ok. I fast walked until my shoulder bumped someone.
"Karma are you okay," Jacob hugged me. I nodded.
"Are you okay," I asked. I felt him nod. I heard screaming near by. I rushed to where the screams where coming. They where getting closer. I stopped and covered my mouth. I felt my eyes get watery.
I always got y'all on the edge of y'all seats. But I'm so sorry I haven't updated. I was at dance then went out to eat. Then the mall. And you know how black folks is at the mall.
Who got shot?
Do you think Karma is exaggerating?
