Lauren

*next day*

"Hey, Lauren?" Y/N called out worried. "Where are you?" She kept calling, I could sense the worry in her voice. I felt bad, it hurt me to hear her like this, but it was hide & seek, i'm not giving up that easily.

Currently, i'm crouched behind an old fallen oak tree, my heart was racing because of the adrenaline, my eyes darted towards the direction of Y/N's voice.

I'll admit, I take hide & seek very seriously. it's the only game I can beat Y/N at. I begin to panic a little bit when I don't hear anything, no crunching of leaves, no more shouts.

Suddenly, I turn my head and see Y/N stood a few meters away. In shock and determination I quickly jump up and sprint in the opposite direction.

"Ah fuck sake Lauren!" I heard Y/N laugh behind me. I run meeting the path that continued up a slope. My legs slightly burned at the sudden ascent, but I strangely liked the feeling. I turned right off the path and into the plantation.

Bushes and trees flew pass me as I ran deeper into the forest. I could feel Y/N catching up, so I pushed forward and met with another path. I dashed left, I quickly glance behind me, Y/N was so close.

I pushed myself further, however all of a sudden, I felt my foot catch on a tree root and before I could process it, I was laying flat on the leafy path. Followed by small scream from Y/N as she tripped over the same tree root, falling on top of me.

We both groan in unison as the realisation kicked in. My bare elbows felt pretty scratched up and my knees will sure have a graze or two on them. We were both breathing heavily from the running.

"I caught you." Y/N whispered in my ear, still on top of me, I could feel her chest rapidly rising and falling against my back. My body felt something odd, something I had never felt before but I liked it a lot. She soon rolled off me and into her back, propped up on her elbows. "Lauren, are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine." I said smiling at her.

"Thanks for cushioning my fall," She winked before laughing.

"Oh, you're very welcome, Y/N, you can fall on me anytime." Sarcasm laced in my voice, as I turned onto my back, sitting in the same position as Y/N.

"No need to, i've already fallen for you." She said quietly with a little less confidence than usual. I looked up to meet her eyes. I was shocked at what she's said yet so happy at the same time.

'Y/N likes me back?' I thought, but suddenly realised I said it out loud.

Y/N's signature chuckle rung like music to my ears, although I was embarrassed I smiled and giggled. I shyly looked around, taking in our surroundings. "It's true, I do like you, Lauren, a lot." I turned my head towards her, hearing the words that completed me. "I'm so glad you like me too." I lean in closer just a little bit and I nod once timidly.

Y/N placed her hand gently on my flushed rosy cheek, then before I knew it, she leaned in slowly. I closed my eyes, feeling as if I was about to fall into the best sleep ever. She closed the gap and I felt Y/N's lips on mine. They were soft, sounds like any other kiss but, they were a different soft. I could feel my head go a little dizzy, the overwhelming power of one simple touch could do that to you. I had dreamt about this moment for a long time and it's happening. We broke the kiss and darted our heads towards a dog barking in front of us. I felt my skin on my cheek grow cold as Y/N hand retracts, along with the warmth in my chest.

Then an elderly woman came walking around the corner, obviously the owner of the dog as it pounced back towards the woman.

"Did she see us?" I mumbled to Y/N, but she ignored me.

"Good afternoon, Ms Trevors." Y/N pushing herself off the ground then extending a hand out for me to pull myself up. Y/N gave me an apologetic look.

"Lauren!? Hello?" Camila's voice rung in my ears. I blinked at her a few times, trying to shake myself out of my flashback. "You've been spacing out a lot recently... more than usual." She sat back in her seat.

"Are you worried about meeting Y/N?" Dinah asked, then taking a sip of her tea.

"No, not worried at all, I'm really excited," I said, I was reluctant to tell them about the flashbacks. I took a deep breath and held it for a second, before realising slowly. "Actually... i'm a little bit nervous but that's normal." I wanted to change subject so bad.

"Lolo, just remember soundcheck is at 4:45, therefore can you get here by 3:45, i'm sure you'll be late anyway." Ally said being serious.

"Wow, glad to know you have faith in me, Ally." I said a little hurt.

"Oh, honey, we know what you're like." Dinah sassed, knitting an eyebrow.

"Yeah, sorry, Lauren, and that's coming from Dinah!" Normani laughed.

"Oh look at the time, i've got to meet Y/N in 30 minutes, I better be leaving so i'm early." I said jokingly making my point, as I stood up from the table.

I was about to exit the door when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned, and to my surprise, it was Camila.

"Have fun today, Lauren." She smiled genuinely, but strangely I could see pain in her eyes when she spoke those words, as if she had forced herself so much.

"Thanks, Camz, I will." I pulled her into a small hug. Why did I hug her? Why do I feel guilty all of a sudden? I pulled away from the hug and waved the girls goodbye.

I know Camila and I had history but I thought she was over it. It was 3 years ago when it ended, and not to mention she was the one to end it. She moved on, saw other people. I was left hurt and lost, but I soon realised I didn't need someone in my life for me to live mine fully - being in a relationship is just a bonus.

I was too in depth in my own thoughts that I hadn't noticed the 'taxi' was parked right in front of me. I hopped in and gave the British driver the address, he started the cab, heading into the heart of London.
