The streets of Los Angeles are never still.  But it was pretty quiet in my apartment.  Even with Jerome's little house party and my late-night meeting at the gym, my mind still wouldn't let me sleep.

My body was tired, but my mind was still sprinting thoughts of Prince.  Seeing him at Jerome's place was expected.  But I wasn't expecting to see Prince wearing that ring.

As my brain collected theories, I heard a tap at my window.  Then quickly another.

I grabbed the remote and aimed it at the T.V.  Another tap.  I pressed the MUTE button and then swung my legs off the bed and planted my feet to the floor.

I didn't remember many clouds earlier—just a clear blue sky and beaming sun.  But it was possible hail was falling from the sky, now.

As soon as I shoved my curtain to the side, a quarter sized rock hitting the window made me flinch.  "What the-"

Down below, a nearby streetlight helped me see Prince leaning on a black Cadillac.

I pushed up the window and scowled towards him, his smile, and his wave.

     "There you are," he said.

     "What are you doing?"

"I couldn't sleep.  Why didn't you answer the phone?"

"It's one o'clock in the morning."

"You know I wouldn't know that.  Can I come up?"

     "No.  What do you want?"

"I miss you.  Go listen to my message."

     "I heard your message, Prince."

"Baby, I'm gonna come up, okay?"  Then he disappeared from my view.

About a minute later, he was in the building and knocking on the front door.

I stood an inch away from it.  "I don't want you in here."

     "Why not?"

"I can't think of any reason I want to be alone in a room with you, right now."

"How about because you love me?"

     "How about you're a man-whore."

"Baby, can we talk about it inside before someone comes out here and see's me."

"Prince, I know what you've been doing.  And you coming here like this is offensive."

"Umm...what are you talking about?"  He sounded confused.
