It was dark. The only noise was the continuous sound of your breathing and the air conditioning.

Light was beginning to seep through the miniature hole in your curtains, causing an orangey glow to your room. You realised this must mean it is around 5am, sunrise.

You grunt as the light fades by, what must be, clouds passing by. You shoved your face in your soft, fluffy pillow. Wishing it was earlier so you could go back to sleep. Once you are awake, you're awake for the rest of the day.

Suddenly, an unfamiliar noise started echoing from outside your window. It sounded like.. scraping? The scraping of metal against stone?

You heard some grunting, and immediately thought that you were getting robbed. Coming to the realisation that the noise was a ladder, you snapped your curtains and blinds open to confront the thief, only to come face to face with a struggling Lucas, staring at you blankly through the window.

Your face twisted into many shapes in that very moment. Confused, you opened the window to let him in.

He sighed in relief and scrambled through the window, landing harshly on your bed.

"Ouch." He cringed.

"Well, first of all, hi." You said in an aggravated tone.

"Second..?" He shot back annoyingly.

"What are you doing here?" You whisper-yelled.

He pulled out a chocolate chip cookie in cling film from his pocket, looked at you, and grinned.

"MINE!" You said a little too loudly, as you snatched the delicious snack from his hands.

You delicately removed the cling film as you started biting into the cookie.

"Uhm.." Lucas started giggling a bit, watching you devour the snack.

"Suh, fwat elwsh did youuuu wwwant?" You mumbled, crumbs flying from your mouth everywhere as you struggled to chew.

"I mhwean, ish nawt jwush fe cookeh wight?"

"Aha, well. You see.. I wanted to-to-to um-you see, well-kinda, um." He stuttered as he searched his brain for something to say.

"Can you just come with me to the park?" He whispered.

"In these ducking things? No way. Hang on.. DONT LOOK AT ME OKAY." You whispered-yelled once again, receiving privacy and getting space to change at once.

"Okay, Lucas. You can look now." You said as you stood up from the other side of your bed, straightening out your black sweater and blue jeans. You had white converse on and your hair was in a messy bun.

"O-O-Okay. Let's uhm-- let's go then?" He stuttered once again.

"Aha, yeah." You said while laughing a little at his dorkiness.

"So, why did you want to come to the park at this time? Is everything okay?" You asked him.

"Well, no. My parents are always arguing and I can't take it anymore. Its too much. I just wanted to spend time away from them, with someone I can actually trust, you know?" He replied in a depressed tone.

"Oh, Lucas. I'm so sorry. I wish you told me before. It gets better, okay? I promise. I'm here for you when you need me my little cookie." You told him, hoping he'd take it on board.

"Thanks, Bella. I appreciate it." He thanked you with a small smile.

"Ow, come here." You said, pulling him into a hug.

"Bella, can I ask you something?" He mumbled into your neck.

"Sure."

He pulled away from the hug and looked you dead in the eye.

"Bella, ever since we met I feel like I've always had someone to turn to. Its like you're always by my side even if we're miles apart. For that, I -I think I'm in love with you. So, will you please be my girlfriend? I don't want to feel alone." He spoke, tears forming in his eyes.

"Yes." You whispered, as you crashed into his arms and hugged him tightly.

That's how your night ended. You two, sitting on the floor in a park, hugging,laughing, and crying. It was a beautiful start to a beautiful day.
