Niall's POV

"So, who was that, exactly?" Liam began to question me. "And why did you completely exit the room with her in the middle of a signing?"

"It's kind of a long story."

Harry's forehead crinkled. "Is she alright? She seemed sick or something."

I simply shrugged, not making eye contact with any of them because I was confused myself, and I let Harry go on, "Tired, maybe. I know I would be if I waited all day in that long just to get a signature. The things some people do for us."

He shook his head, and all five us sort of laughed, still weirded out after almost two years of fame.

I collected the many snapbacks and other items I had received from fans during the CD signing.

Hours later, I was flopped against Harry's huge couch, staring up at the empty space leading to the high ceiling with four square windows at the top, letting in what light was left of our busy day. We were all staying at Harry's house for this week since all of our interviews were closest to him. I was positioned with the back of my head propped up by my forearm, the other hand scrolling through twitter.

My mind was still on Aubree.

I heard the unlocking of Harry's door and Louis appeared.

"You okay, mate?"

I sat up, switching my position on the couch so I was leaning on my elbows. "Yeah," I ruffled my hair and returned my elbow to the white leather of Harry's furniture. "I think. It's just...."

"That girl?" He finished for me.

I nodded. "Yeah. That girl."

"I saw the way you were watching her walk away." He winked at me, both of us laughing, and he playfully punched the side of my leg as he made his way to the chair a couple of feet away from where I was situated.

"What's up with her, though?"

I gave him a look. "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean."

I shook my head at him. "No, I don't, tell me."

"You know what I'm talking about, mate... how skinny she is. She didn't talk much...."

"What's wrong with that? She's just small and shy!" I didn't realize I had risen from my previous posture and was now halfway off the couch with my voice raised a bit.

"Okay, whoa, nevermind." Lou put up his hands, backing up to sit on the edge of his chair and untie his shoes, taking them off one at a time. "No need to get all defensive."

"Sorry," I told him. "I just.... I just don't really even know. Couldn't tell you myself, mate."

Aubree's POV

The next morning, I slammed my hand down on the alarm where the continuous noise of high-pitched beeping came from.

I rolled over, tangling myself in sheets.

What seemed like ten seconds later the repetitive beeping started up again.

I groaned, "Stop!"

I had already been awake for at least an hour, but I didn't want to get up and go to work.

Covering my left ear with my pillow, I tried to close my eyes. After hearing the muffled beeps for another minute, I jumped up from the bed, grabbing the alarm. The sudden movement sent black dots to the side of my vision and pressure to my skull. I closed my eyes and steadied myself, trying not to pass out. The beeping continued and I opened my eyes again; I almost chucked the thing across the wall. I held it in my hands and thought better of that idea, placing it down slowly and pressing the button to shut it up.
