Extinction Night (Call of Duty Ghosts)

A new kind of war

Me and my brother Jacob was leaning on the bar fence, watching the waves crash against the U.S.S Liberator, talking about how much we miss our home, and our families. I missed my daughters, Ashley and Jessica the most, they are my earth angels, I write to them every week, and Jacob writes to them as well because he has no children of his own but they do love their uncle, he was divorced a year ago. We both just looked out into the open sea, it was just another day out at sea.

'I miss home' said my brother Jacob Ascot.

'You'll be home soon buddy' I said.

He then turned to me and smirked.

'I hope so Dwayne'.

'Why do you miss home Jacob?' I asked with curiousness.

'Well, little brother I've just started dating again' Said Jacob with a smile on his face.

'Dating at your age? Fucking Christ!' I said sarcastically and adding a small chuckle.

'You'll be sorry, when you see her little brother' he replied.

'What will I be sorry about?'.

'Well she-' Before he could finish the tannoy came on.

'Bravo team, head you way towards HQ, your wanted for a mission, Kroco out' Spoke our Lieutenant Kroco on the tannoy.

'That's us Dwayne, get the others I'll meet you there' said Jacob as he walked towards to HQ.

'Wait! Why should I round them up? Your their Sergeant!' I moaned.

'Your my little brother, you do what I say!' he kept walking away.

'Bastard!' I said under my voice.

So I went to group up the rest of Bravo squad for another mission, I walked around the ship, asking crew members if they had been seen anywhere, I searched in the hallways, upper and lower decks, no sign of them. 'I heard your looking for us' a voice spoke behind me, I turned around to see it was David Shadow, one of Bravo's squad members, 'Finally, I found one of you' I said in relief, 'I was in the bridge, fixing a computer'.

'Shit, I should have gone there first' I said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

'Flow and Charlie are in the mess hall' said David.

'I was about to go there'

David put is arm on my shoulder and turned me round and walked us towards the mess hall.

'Where's your brother, Jacob?'

'He's up in HQ with the Lieutenant'

As we headed towards the canteen we talked about how we had been, how much we miss home. When we got to the canteen doors we could hear cheerful shouts, when we walked through the doors we could see Charlie throwing money into the air, he had just won ten thousand dollars, 'What's going on?' I asked a crew member, 'What about Flow?'

'She won a few thousand dollars'

'Ok, they need to stop playing around and get to HQ'

'Let them have there fun Dwayne'

'No, I have orders'

'Hey! Charlie and Flow! Get your arses over here!'

I yelled so loud, everybody looked at us, Charlie and Flow looked embarrassed as they grabbed their winnings and walked towards us, I felt stupid, acting like a Sergeant when I'm a Private giving orders, they both gave me a bad look as they walked past me, David soon followed them and we all headed towards HQ, none of us spoke a word as we headed towards HQ, so I decided to have a small conversation with our squad.

'Why are you called Flow?' I asked her, hoping I get an answer from.

'It's my last name, everybody calls me Flow'.

'What's your first name?'

'Elizabeth'

'Sounds good'

'Thanks and Charlie's name is John'

'His last name is Charlie?'

'Correct and your last name is Ascot the same as Jacob'

'Alright love birds, enough talking'

We finally got to HQ and I saw Jacob standing next to Sergeant Kroco and my brother Jacob didn't have a happy look on their faces, I wondered why?.

 'What's with the look?' Asked Private Jade Flow as the rest of us just stood still with confusion.

'Your being sent on a dangerous mission' said Sergeant Kroco.

'What mission is this Sergeant?' asked John Charlie.

'Operation Extinction Night' said Jacob.

We all looked at each other wondering what he meant, we had no idea what was to come to our minds, I looked at Jacob and he had the look of fear, I wanted to know what  he was told.

'What do you mean ... Extinction Night sir?' I asked with concern.

'You'll be told on the chopper' said Sergeant Kroco.

He then turned his back to us to face the screens but we all needed to know what were going to go through but I knew if I tried to talk to the Sergeant he wouldn't give an answer, so we all headed towards the helicopters, then I realized that my brother Jacob would know since he was standing next to the Sergeant so I walked quicker to catch up with him.

'What's Extinction Night?' I asked Jacob.

'A city two hundred miles from here has an infestation, it's our job to clear it out', I was curious about what he meant by infestation.

'What's the infestation?'.

'An unknown species'.

'You fucking kidding me!' I yelled with fear, the others wanted to know what I was just told.

'What's going on?' asked Charlie.

'We are being sent on a fucking suicide mission!' I yelled loudly into Jacobs face and giving him a bad look into his eyes, I was terrified that we was going to fight an unknown species.

'Get your arse to the chopper Dwayne!' Jacob yelled back at me.

'Calm the fuck down you two!' yelled David.

'Before you guys kill each other, get your gear' said Jacob, strolling past. 

I went to get my gear and my AK-12 rifle and my MP433 pistol , Charlie grabbed his Honey Badger rifle and his MK32, Flow Grabbed her BULLDOG shotgun and her P226 pistol and David grabbed his L115 sniper rifle and his ANACONDA pistol and we all headed towards the chopper on the ship deck, as we walked out of the chopper me and the others put our ghost masks on.
