Extinction Night (Call of Duty Ghosts)

Alive to survive

They didn't show after the first attack, we were all on edge, we had no idea what to expect.

The drill was half way on the hive but now it's damaged, we needed to repair it, the chopper was still out of contact, we needed to get it's attention, we all checked our ammo and headed out.

'How are we going to get in touch with the chopper?' asked Flow.

'I'm not sure yet' said Charlie.

I then thought of an idea that could work, but it could bring the creatures to us, but it was worth a try.

'How about flares?' I asked, hoping that it was an OK idea.

'It could work, if we hold our...' I was rudely interrupted by David.

'That fucking idea would bring those things to us!'

'What!? You have a better fucking idea!?' I yelled into David's face, my throat was sore afterwards, but he knew there was no choice.

'Use the flares on a high hill' Ordered Charlie, he gave us orders on what to do and where to go, he told me and David to get positions on a small hill next to the road and Charlie and Flow would cover us from the building on the other side, 'You mean the Gil's lodge motel? I asked. 'Yeah, and maybe we could electrify the fence?' said Charlie 'Great idea, there a about three generators around that area' said Flow, 'Ok, we will set up the fence, maybe we can fry a few of them' said Charlie, David kept saying we had no chance on what we were doing but he had to put up with it.

Before me and David get to our positions, we helped Flow and Charlie set up the fence, 'What if the fence doesn't work?' asked David, 'He might have a point guys, I mean look at these generators, they look a bit old' I said. 'Should we test them?' Flow asked. Before we could test them we heard a few creatures coming towards us. 'We have no time, Dwayne and David get up that small hill' Charlie ordered, 'Why do I have to go with him? He can't hit shit!' David moaned, 'Shit isn't what I trying to hit asshole!' Charlie then split us up and pointed at the small hill, with a sternly look.

'If we die, I hope you go to hell' moaned David.

'I'll see you there' I said sarcastically.

We set up our flares and prepared for them to attack, hopefully the chopper would find it before the aliens did, we laid four flares down to surround us in case the aliens didn't like the flares.

'How long do you think it will take?' asked David.

I didn't want to answer his question because I didn't know what to say, I then saw the aliens coming towards us, I quickly warned David and prepared to fire, before we could pull our triggers, they stopped in front of the flares, we also got to see what we was up against.

'Shoot it Dwayne!' shouted David

'Look at this thing' I spoke to myself, staring at the creature, it's body was grey, and it's glowing orange eyes and mouth, it's sharp teeth, and it was covered in blisters, this truly was a creature out of this world.

'Fuck this! I'll kill it!' David yelled and then open fired on it, the alien then fell to the ground and the other aliens scattered.

'What's going on over there!?' yelled Flow on the radio.

'Nothing, Dwayne was just, shocked, we got it under control' replied David. 

I didn't know what came over me, I felt stupid.

'Well we know one thing' I said.

'What will that be?' said David.

"We know that they are interested in flares" I said.

I then had an idea, I got on the radio with the others and asked them if the had anymore flares, they told me they had two more flares left, my idea could only distract a few aliens for a little while.

'What's your idea?' asked Charlie with concern.

'Well, the flares will give us enough time to get to the chopper' I said.

'That's if it don't fuck up' Charlie added to the conversation.

'It's worth a try, we'll most likely have a bunch of those creatures chasing after us' said Charlie.

He didn't like the idea but what choice did we have, we only had two flares left, after about ten minutes we was still trying to get in touch with Jacob in the chopper, I was feeling worried but I was also curious, why haven't we seen him for a while?

Suddenly the radio went crazy, it was coming from Flow and Charlie, they were being attacked by the creatures from inside the building they were in.

'We have to help them!' David yelled into my face.

'We cant leave the drill behind!' I yelled back at David.

'Fuck the drill! I'm helping them, with or without you!'  David then ran towards them, the alien creatures then appeared from nowhere, I decided to cover him from the hill and to protect the drill at the same time, I was prepared for the worst.

As one alien ran towards David as he was making his way to Flow and Charlie, the creatures were hard to kill, David then open fired on a creature heading towards him, just before the alien got close to him, it fell to the ground, he had killed one, I looked with amazement and then concentrated to continue covering David.

I could see Flow and Charlie struggling to keep the aliens back, they were losing ammo fast, David then broke down a door and made his way towards the others, all I could hear on the radio was screaming, I then covered myself to protect the drill and try to get the chopper's attention.

'I didn't sign up for this shit!' I yelled to myself, I then noticed the flares was about to go out, I was in deep trouble, suddenly i heard a miracle to my ears, I heard chopper blades and then Jacob's voice.

'Thought you guys need a little help!' aid Jacob being a cheeky bastard.

 'It's about fucking time you showed up motherfucker!' I yelled loudly in frustration.

Jacob shot round after round from the chopper's Gatling gun, one by one the aliens fell to the floor, David got to Flow and Charlie safely, he then helped them fight off the aliens, Jacob then turned his attention to the aliens inside the building where the others are in.
