Crash!

There it goes again, mom's in the alcohol, dads out probably with one of his girlfriends, and brother? He's out to probably making dumb decisions.
Welcome to my life. I walked down the stairs looking for my mother. I find her sitting on the couch a bottle of alcohol in her hand.
"Mom, I don't think you should do this tonight. I mean you have to meet my new principal tomorrow."
She sat quietly. This is the third time we've moved this year. My parents keep saying we're staying in New York. That is if dad can control his temper and not lose his job.
"And mom we have dinner with the neighbors tomorrow. Don't you want to make a good impression?"
"Who cares what they think Laura," she screamed. My lip quivered, "I do, for once in my life I wanna make friends!"
"Well the world doesn't revolve around Laura," she took a swig. "Besides your father is going to ruin it for us!"
"So he will smart off at work and just like that we will be moving. Because people don't understand people like us."
"What do you mean people like us? We're just a messed up family!" Right now I wanted to break down but I wasn't going to. Not in front of her at least.

Ring!

The alarm rings signaling it's time to wake up for school. I reach over to turn the alarm off, I wouldn't want to wake mother.
She's probably in deep sleep from when she passed out hours ago. I finally raise and stand on my feet.
What to wear, what to wear? Jeans, burgundy sweater, white converse. Simple and boring, kind of explains my life.
I leave my hair in its natural wave and just run my brush through it. Time to go see the shape my family is in.
Creak! The stairs are so loud in this house. "Oh good morning dear." There's my mom with that pathetic fake smile on her face. Surprised she's not out.
"Morning honey." And there's dad pretending he hadn't been out all night with random girls.
"Morning sis," my brother gives me this stupid grin. He thinks that I don't know he goes out and drinks and smokes at night.
But I do. But I refuse to tell mom, because she has the same problem she just doesn't have to go out.
And dad's to busy with his "girlfriends" to care. So I just ignore it.
"Good morning guys," I say while sitting down at the table.
"Here hon," mom says to dad while sitting his breakfast in front of him. I can tell she saw the lipstick marks on the color of his white shirt because her pathetic smile turned into a frown.
"Mom, I think I'm gonna have to skip breakfast, I wanna get to school early." "Okay Laura, have a good day."
They don't care about my day. And I don't want to get to school early the truth is I don't eat.
Sometimes I think I might starve to death, then maybe when I gone my family will come out of their funk.
I grabbed my backpack and sighed. As I was closing the door behind me my mother said something that made me pause.
"Oh and Laura, happy faces." Happy faces, that means pretend our family isn't falling apart when it actually is.

---------------------
People keep staring at me, I guess that's what you get when you're the new girl.
"Well well well, look at this the new girl is lost," some tall guy with brown hair shouted. Which caused everyone to pause and look at me.
"You need help sweetheart?" "No."
His smirk then dropped and his face became angry. He pushed me towards the lockers.
"What'd you say?" "I said no I don't need your help." He looked me right in the eyes. Man if looks could kill.
"Leave her alone Aaron." The guy I now know as Aaron spun around. "Since when do you care what I do?" "Since right now," spit the blonde,"now leave."
He left and soon everyone went back to what they were doing. "Are you okay?" I looked to the boy, he had blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was kind of cute.
"Yes, I'm fine, thanks," I said turning to walk away. "I'm Ross by the way," he said showing a small smile. "Nice to meet you," happy faces,"Ross."
"I'm Laura," I said smiling. My mothers face kept popping up in my mind saying "happy faces Laura happy faces."
"Do you need help finding something?" "Can you point me in the direction of the office?" He pointed down the hallway, "take a left, you'll see it."
       "Thanks," I said walking away.
That's not what I expected my first impression to be.
I took a left and a saw a door labeled   OFFICE. I opened the door to see a lady sitting at the desk on her computer.
"Hi, I'm Laura Marano. I'm new, and I was wanting to get my schedule and locker combination, and make sure that my mother still had as an appointment with Principal Harris after school."
"Alright let me just look up your files." "Okay." "Laura Marano, age seventeen, parents Angela and Dan Marano." Yes."
"It says here you have a brother,  Lane Marano, age 18, shouldn't he be getting his information?"
"He dropped out of school two years ago." "Your parents let him?" "Unfortunately yes."
She gave me a weird look and then looked back at her computer. "Okay Miss Marano, here are your papers."
"Thank you," I said exiting the office." I walked to my locker to put my things in there.
Okay now first period. Just make one friend you can do this.
As walked to my class all I could here was my mom whispering "happy faces" in my head.

So this is a new story I started. It is based off of the Melanie Martinez song Dollhouse. And I know Laura's life is nothing like this, I thought it would kind of cool to base each chapter off of Melanie Martinez's songs. (Because she is amazing!) Please let me know what you think in the comments below!! Also make sure to click the star! (I mean if you want to!😛) I love you guys!
