I stood there smiling and waving one last time before she had to turn down the hallway and be gone. I managed not to cry when I was telling her goodbye, although it was really hard not to. Izzy turned and grinned widely and gave me a thumbs up, then turned down the hallway. I lowered my hand and sighed. I turned towards her mom, who was still crying, I gave her a smile and told her, "Come by the house anytime, I'm going to go now."
She wiped her cheeks and gave me a small smile, "Thanks for coming Louis, it meant a lot to her. I'll visit soon."
I hugged her and went to find the exit of this place.
I slumped down in the drivers seat of my car and stared blankly out the window. I wasn't going to cry but I wanted to. My favorite person just left. What was I going to do without her?
I turned the car on and left. As I pulled out of the parking garage, I saw an airplane just taking off. I wondered if that was her plane.. I smiled and waved to it anyway.
When I got home I told mom about how it went. She asked "What time will she land?"
"It will be 7 or 8 at night in the US and 12 here." I told her.
"When will you be able to talk to her?" she asked.
"Probably tomorrow morning, she has to get checked in at her hotel and set everything up." I said. It was going to be a long time until the morning. Mom gave me a small smile and I went upstairs to my room. I turned on my PlayStation and started to play some FIFA.
"Louis its time for dinner!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs. It seems like I was only playing for five minutes but it must have been longer. I shut the game off and went downstairs.
It smelt like pasta and fresh baked bread, "Smells delicious mum", I smiled at her and grabbed a plate. I sat across from her at the table and next to Lottie.
It was silent tonight and strange, "So how is everyone?", I decided to speak up.
Mom smiled at the girls and then looked at me, "Louis, me and the girls have a surprise for you."
"Oh please tell me you aren't pregnant again." I rolled my eyes but laughed a little.
She giggled but shook her head no before beginning, "Well before Isabelle left me and her talked about you and what you would do after she left."
"So you like to gossip about me?" I said jokingly.
"No honey, not that. But we wanted you to audition for the X Factor. And before you say anything, you have a good voice. We hear you belt out in the shower all the time and you were the lead in your school play." she smiled remembering me as Danny Zuko in the production of Grease.
"Just cause I did that doesn't mean I'll make it mum, I'm not the best, I'm just okay." I quickly replied, thinking of auditioning for that show made me nervous. I knew I could sing, but it wasn't enough for the X Factor.
"Well would you at least try for Izzy, at least. She really wants you to do this." she smiled, knowing I would do just about anything for Izzy.
I wasn't going to let her be satisfied right now, "Let me talk to her tomorrow and then we'll decide."
She shook her head and smiled, knowing that most likely I was going to be auditioning for the X Factor.
I finished up dinner, did the dishes, and then told everyone goodnight.
The next morning I woke up around 11:30 in the afternoon and instead of going downstairs to eat, I grabbed my laptop and checked my phone. I had a missed call from an unknown number from New York! Izzy, it had to be her! I logged into my Skype and saw a small green dot by her name, showing she was online.
I ruffled my hair out of my eyes and clicked the call button. My camera turned on and I don't think I could look any worse. It rang four times before she answered.
She had my beanie on and her hair was curled, she looked great unlike me. We both immediately smiled, "I knew you would be waking up soon sleepyhead!" she said laughing.
"Yeah don't I always, when did you get up?" I asked her.
"A couple hours ago, its only 6:40 in the morning here. This jet lag is going to kick my bum." she laughed again.
I smiled at her and said "We need to talk."
She stopped giggling and looked at the screen, she bit her lip, "What about?"
"It's nothing bad Izzy, I promise." I gave her a thumbs up. She stuck her tongue out and waved her hand for me to continue, "My mum tells me that you and her want me to audition for something..." I don't know how I want to talk to her about this.
"Ah I know what you're talking about. Are you going to do it?!" she clapped her hands excitedly.
"I don't know, I wanted to talk to you about it. I don't think I am meant for that show." I said frowning.
"Louis don't say that, you know I wouldn't lie to you, you sing great. I didn't sit front row at Grease, three nights in a row for nothing. You can do it. I want you to do something great while I'm here, I don't want you to waste your life trying to figure out what you want to do as a job. Do the audition and see where it gets you. If you don't make it than they are missing out on someone great." she sighed and smiled at me.
I know she wanted me to do this, "I'll do it." I mumbled.
She gave me a quizzical look, "What did you say?"
"I said I'll do it." I said a bit louder.
Her face instantly lit up, "Really? Awh Louis! You'll be great. Your audition is in two days, you have to get ready and prepare yourself, and chose a song. Oh my, this is a lot. How am I going to see it? Oh no." she was rambling.
"Isabelle, calm down. Did you say my audition is in two days?" I can't believe it, they planned this.
"Um yeah." she mumbled.
"You knew I would do it! Didn't you? You and my mum! Wow!" I basically yelled through the screen, I wasn't mad that they did, I just couldn't believe they knew me so well.
She laughed, "You'll do anything for your mum and me, don't lie."
"Oh hush," I said blushing, "I'm going to talk to my mom and we will work out the details for my audition, you'll see it somehow."
"Alright Lou, we'll talk soon, miss you lots! Tell everyone I said hello and tell your mom that I knew it would work!" she grinned widely and waved at the camera.
"Bye Izzy." I smiled before clicking end call.
