Chapter 3-Upside down

The next day, I got up by myself, even earlier than usual. I got ready quickly and went downstairs. Mum looked at me surprised.

-Lis! Are you awake already?

-Yes,-I told mum-Do you need any help?

-Yes, wake Tess up-Mom told me.

I went to Tess's room, but mother stopped me, before I entered.

-You are acting strange. Did something happen?

-Yes, to tell the truth. I wanted to tell you that yesterday, but unforunately I had too many homeworks.-I told her with smile-I had had a very strange day yesterday, I made a friend.

-OMG! It's very exciting-mum told me happily, she was always surprised, that I had not have any friends-Do I know she?

-Actually, his name is Alex-I laughed.

-I'm very happy-Mum told me, then take her hand off of me-now, go! Wake Tess up!

Tess's room was on the first floor. That room was mine before, so I have always loved it. The walls were pink and there were added new posters, but gladly Tess and I had the same taste, so room wasn't changed a lot gladly. Tess was sleeping so sweetily, that I really didn't want to wake her up, but I didn't have another way. I touched her softly.

-Tess! Sweetheart! It's time for you to wake up! C'mon, get ready and come to kitchen, okay?

-I want to sleep, Lis-she told me.

-I know, but you'll be late at school. Come to kitchen in five minutes, don't make me enter again!

-Okay, okay!

I came back to kitchen. Mom made a tea for me. So sat on the chair near table. After few minutes I Tess came and sat beside me.

I was eating, when I got a sms. I looked at phone. The number was unknown.

-Hey, how are you?

-Who are you?-I sent a sms.

-You are the best friend of year. it's Alex.

-Oh, Alex! Sorry, that I am not like the girls, who know everything about you exactly-I sent him a message and laughed, when I imagined how Alex would react about it.

-Okay, it doesn't matter. Who is taking you to school?

-Mom, I guess.

-Do you want, me to take you?

-As you wish.

-Okay, I'll be there in 10!

I told Alex, that I was waiting for him. Then I finished my breakfast and went upstairs to try on my jacket.

-Lisa! Take your bag we are going!-I heard my mother's voice.

-Go without me! Alex is taking me to school!-I told her.

I took my jacket and entered to the living room.

-Your new friend is coming?-She asked me with smile-Then we will stay, I want to know him.

-Okay, as you wish-I told her and sat on the sofa.

After few minutes bell rang. I opened the door. It was Alex. He was smiling, it looked like he was in very good mood.

-Come in, my mother wants to acquaint you-I told him.

Alex followed me without speaking. I introduced him to my mother and sister shortly.

-It's very nice to meet you mrs. Adams and you too, Tess!

-You can call me Katherine-my mum replied. Then they started talking. it seemed like, m mother was really happy, because I had a friend.

-I think, you talked enough! It's time to go or we'll be very late.

-Okay, bye!-My mum told me, then she returned to ALex and winked-Don't forge what I told you!

Alex and I went outside. There was Alex's new car. We went on.

-What did my mom tell you?-I asked with interest.

-It's secret.

-Great! you exchanged me on the first day of our friendship-I told him with irony.

-It's not a problem, you will get use to it-He told me and we started laughing.

Our first lesson was history. We were late at school, but I wasn't very surprised, because Alex and my mother had a long chat.

-Mr. Sawyer! Miss Adams! The lesson started 15 minutes ago!-Mr Roberts said angrily.

-We are sorry sir! It won't happen again.-I told him.

-Okay, sit down!

I sat on my seat. Alex whispered something to Rick, who was sitting next to me, so he moved and Alex sat down.

-Impressionable!-I said sarcastically.

-Being with me is always impressionable-He laughed.

-Well, it seems like, I don't have talent to feel that-I laughed too.

Lessons finished quickly that day. I was going to go to home by bus, but Alex insisted to take me himself, so I agreed. Mum was at home. She was helping Tess in doing homeworks.

-What was going on in school?-asked mum.

-Nothing at all.

-I like your friend.

-I'm glad you like him.-I replied and smiled-Tess, did you like him?

-Yes, but it will be good, if you take him here more often.

-We'll see-I told her shortly.

I had a dinner, then started doing homeworks. Day went on really fast. I have always enjoyed thinking before sleep and I have a lot to think this time. I was thinking about how strange things were happening in these days. I was funny. I, the person who was always invisible, became the most noticeable. Everyone was talking about me. I was friends with the most popular boy at school. My life was upside down, but I liked that. I could have never imagined that, but there was something, that was making me happy. But I was so sure about one thing: I was happy, because my life was changing.
