After Gabe drove me home, I went inside.  Austin was in the living room sitting on the couch.  Sometime I wondered if he ever went to college.

"Hey Logan."  he said, with a small smile playing on his lips, like he knew something I didn't.  "Mom and Dad said they wanted to talk to you.  They're in the kitchen."  I knew it.

"Okay, thanks."  I said hesitantly.  He still had that weird smile on his face.  As I walked to the kitchen, I had to admit, I was nervous.  This was the first time I was going to be meeting Mr. Lansing.  When I first got here, Michelle had told me he was on a business trip.  All I knew about him was that his name was Jason.

"Oh, Logan, there you are."  said a man who I assumed was Mr. Lansing.  "We told Austin to send you down when you got home.  I'm Jason, by the way.  I'm sorry that we didn't meet sooner but, as I'm sure Michelle explained, I was off on a business trip."  Looking at the two of them next to each other, I could see how all the Lansing brothers were so cute.  Michelle with her long, dark hair and warm brown eyes, and Jason with his light hair and deep blue eyes.  They both had the same friendly smile that all the boys possessed.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Jason.  Your house is amazing, and Michelle and your sons have been nothing but kind the past few days."  I said trying to muster all the poliet ways my mom had taught me when meeting a new adult.

"Well, Logan."  Michelle said.  "I'm sure you're wondering why we called you down here.  It's about you new car.  I know how reluctant you were when I gave you your new phone, so Jason and I talked about it and Austin helped him pick out a car for you today while you were at school!"  she said with excitement, nearly bouncing s she talked.  "Now, close your eyes."

I did as I was told, to overwhelmed to object to anything.  Each of them took one of my hands in their own and walked me to what I assumed was the garage.

We stepped down a few stairs, which I wouldn't have noticed if Michelle hadn't said to watch my step.  "One. . ."  they started in unison.  "Two. . .three!  Open!"

I did and my jaw nearly hit the floor.  Austin was standing next to a brand new, white, 2012 Kia Optima.

"Surprise!"  he yelled.

I tried to suppress my excited scream, but it came out anyways.  I turned to Michelle and Jason.  "Thank you guys so much!"  I yelled before catapulting myself at them into a huge hug.

"No problem, Logan."  Jason said.

"You're a Lansing now Logan.  Just enjoy your car, that's all the tanks we need."  Michelle said.  Tears swam in my eyes as I enveloped them in another hug.

After letting go, I ran down down and hugged Austin tightly and kissed him on the cheek.

"You're welcome Logan,"  he said, a bush rising into his face.  "But can you let go.  I. . .can't. . .breathe."

"Sorry."  I said stepping back, a huge smile still on my face.  He dangled key in front of my face and I took them gingerly, not wanting to ruin this great moment.  I clicked the unlock button and opened the drivers side door.  The seats were black leather and when I slid in, I looked up to see the two sun roofs that had been advertised.

Austin slid into the passenger seat while I was still admiring the interior of the car, my car.  "So.  Want to take it for a spin?"  he asked

"Can we?"  I asked like a kid in a candy store.

He laughed,  "We can if you want.  It's your car, remember?"

I waved to Michelle and Jason before starting the car.  They waved back and Jason hit a button on the wall that made the garage door open.  The car was facing the door so I just had to pull out of the garage.  I rolled all the windows down while Austin opened the sun roofs and turned on the radio.  My favorite song, I Like It Like That, was on.  It was perfect!  The cool, winter wind nipping at our faces and blowing through my hair, music blaring, and Austin and I cruising down the wide, open road.
