When Mrs. Lansing and I got home, I went up stairs to get out all the clothes Mrs. Lansing had bought for me. I think she's trying to make me into a girlie girl. After all these years with just boys, I decided to try being girlie-ish for a while to make her happy. That shouldn't be to hard considering all the skirts she had gotten me.

The rest of the weekend went by quickly with the nervousness of starting a new school. Before I knew it, I was being woken-up by one of the kids.
"Logan! Wake-up, wake-up, wake-up! You have to go to school!" I opened my eyes and was met with Jake's cute face looking at me, filled with pure excitement.
"What time is it?" I grumbled, sleep heavy in my voice, making me sound exhausted.
"Seven!" he exclaimed.
"Uh." I groaned. I got up dejectedly and got ready so I could finally see this school. I was going to try wearing one of the many skirts the Mrs. Lansing had bought for me on our shopping trip. By the way her face lit up when she walked downstairs, she approved.
"Oh, Logan! You look so pretty!" she gushed. I blushed and replied with a small thanks going over and making breakfast for myself. I was going to have my favorite, cinnamon-sugar toast.
Zach was the next one down. Confusion crossed his face briefly as he looked at me. Maybe because he had never seen me in a skirt. "What is that on your toast?" Or maybe I should learn not to jump to conclusions.
"This?" I asked, tilting my toast slightly so he could see what was on it. He nodded, the confused look back on his face. "It's cinnamon-sugar of course! Only the best topping for toast in the history of the world!" I said, excitement and sarcasm evident in my voice. "You should try some."
"Um. . . .no thanks," he said with a hesitant look on his face.
"But you must! If you don't you will regret it for the rest of your life!" I said as dramatically as I could.
"Okay. . .if it's really that great. . ." he reached over and slowly took the piece of toast I was offering to him.
"Wow. This is good." he said, surprise clear in his tone. He then made himself more while I sat back smiling smugly to myself.
"So who am I riding with today?" I asked Mrs. Lansing since no one had told me.
"Oh, you'll be riding with Cole this week. We'll get you your own car this weekend." she said like it was no big deal and they bought cars for people who were practically strangers everyday.
I nearly chocked on my toast when I heard this. "My own car!? You don't need to do that."
"Oh, honey, we want to. Besides, you're part of the family now." she said with a huge grin on her face.
I couldn't help but smiling as well. This was the first time I had been a part of a real family in a while.
It was almost eight when Cole finally came downstairs. Now we only had ten minutes to get to school before we were late.
"What took you so long!?!" I nearly screamed at him.
He just smiled at me cockily and said, "Gotta look good for the ladies." He then winked at me like I was one of the ladies he had to look good for. I just rolled my eyes and grabbed my book bag and we were out the door.
"So, do you know any of your classes? I can showed you around if you want so you don't get lost." I was slightly shocked at his kindness since he had barely said a word to me since I arrived at their house, I quickly shook it off. His mom is probably making him be nice to me.
"I don't know any of my classes, but they shouldn't be to hard to find." I said looking out the windo. He was driving really fast and watching out the side window was making me dizzy so I just looked forward.
I was surprised when we pulled up at school only five minutes from leaving the house. At my last home, it took almost 15 minutes to get to our school.
"Thanks for the ride." I told Cole while getting out of his car.
"No prob. I'll be driving you for the rest of week anyways." he called after me.
I just gave him a tumbs-up and went off to find the administrations office.
* * * * *
I made my way to the administrations office after stopping multiple times to ask for directions. When I finally got there an older lady was behind the desk.
"Hello. I'm Mrs. Thompson, the secretairy at Roosevelt High. And who may we have here?" she said in a very friend voice.
"Logan Spencer, ma'ma." I said trying to be as polite as possible.
She just smiled and searched something on her computer. "Oh, yes. The transfer student all the way from Iowa. Let me just print out your schedule and and get you a map of the school so you don't get lost." She went off to get me my schedule then handed it to me along with a map.
"Thank you, Mrs. Thompson. Have a nice day." I said as I walked out of the office.
"And you too deary. I hope you have a wonderful time at our school. And welcome to Colorado."
Looking at the map, this school was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Maybe I should've let Cole help me.
After wondering around trying to find my first period class, chemistry, I was still staring at my map, silently willing it to tell me how to get to chemistry. Just as I gave-up and was turning around to go back to the office, I ran into someone.
A familiar voice said, "Oops. Sorry. . . .again." I looked up to see none other than Gabe looking down at me smiling like he had been since I first met him.
"Wow." I said, "When you said we might see each other around, I didn't think you meant so abruptly."
He smilied again at my lame atempt to make a joke. "Ya, we've got to stop meeting like this. So, what are you doing wondering the halls after class has already begun?"
"I could ask you the same question." I replied with a small smirk.
"Touche. Well, I had to pick-up a last minutes schedule change in the office. So, where might you be off to on this fine morning?"
"Uh. . . . .chemistry." I said, looking down at my new scheduel. "Room 603 with Mrs. Bryant. You wouldn't happen to know where that is, would you?"
"Ya, that's actually the class I'm off to now. Come on, I'll show you so we can be late together. Maybe you can even sit by me."
"Okay. Iguess I could sit by you this one time. . . ." I said trailing off sarcastically.
He laughed and then we were off in the same direction I had just come from. Figures I missed it. I'm horrible with maps.
