After English I didn't see Gabe so I just went to my locker and grabbed my stuff so I could leave. I walked out to the parking lot where Cole had parked the car. He was leaning against it with some girl hanging all over him. Uh, gross. She turned around and I saw a familiar face. Allison.
"Um, hey Logan." Cole said, his voice squeaking a little. He cleared his throat and continued. "Um, would you mind, like, walking home? Allison wants to go get ice cream or something." He was watching Allison the whole time, lust written all over his face. I didn't think anyone would be eating any ice cream.
"Yeah," Allison added, that fake sweat smile on her face that I was already coming to hate. "You just go down that road and turn when you get to the River Ridge sign."
I didn't like the fact that Cole was ditching me for Allison, but I had only been living with the Lansings and I didn't want to get on any of their bad sides. "Um, ya, sure. No problem." A quick idea popped into my head and I decided to test if Cole had actually been listening to himself earlier. "You two go enjoy your pizza."
"Oh, we will." Cole said with a far away look on his face. Point taken.
I started my way down the road and pulled out my iPhone the Lansings had bought me that weekend. They found out that I didn't have a cell phone and were worried that if I ever needed help, I wouldn't be able to reach anyone. I tried to talk them out of it, but they had insisted that I take the phone since they had already bought it. I had to admit, it was really cool and helped in boring times like this.
I went to the music player and hit shuffle. I couldn't help but laugh when the first song that came on was Walk It Out. I had been walking for a few minutes when a car pulled up next to me.
"Hey stranger, need a lift?" a familiar voice called out the window. I looked over to see Gabe's smiling face looking out at from his blue Ford Focus.
"Well, it depends. Are you going to kidnap and then kill me in an undisclosed area?" I asked mockingly with a smile on my face before climbing in his car. "Do you happen to know where the Lansing's live? Cole ditched me for Allison and she said the road to turn on but I wasn't listening to her."
He laughed a little before responding. "Yeah, I know where they live. I live farther down the road from them so I drive by their house on my way home."
"So, we're like street buddies?" I questioned with a teasing smile on my face.
"Defiantly."
We drove the rest of the way home in comfortable silence and before I knew it, he was pulling into the Lansing's driveway.
"Well thanks." I said, starting to get out of his car.
"Hey, um, Logan. I-if you want I can give you a ride to and from school since we live on the same street. I mean I understand if you don't want to, but--"
"That would be great, Gabe. Thanks." I interrupted him. He smiled and backed his car out of the driveway. To my surprise, he pulled into the driveway diagonally across from the Lansing's house. I gave him a confused look when he got out of his car.
"What?" he asked innocently. "I said I lived a little down the street from them."
I just rolled my eyes and called "Bye, Gabe over my shoulder as we both turned to enter our own houses.

Because today was the first day back from winter break and the start of the second semester, I didn't have any homework to do. I just stretched out on my bed, listening to music and surfing the Internet on my iPhone.
After a while I got bored and decided to go see what Austin was doing. I knocked but didn't wait for his reply before walking in.
"Logan!" he yelled, his face turning bright red from embarrassment. He was shirtless and was about to step into a pair of pants. I slapped my hand over my eyes and tried to find my way to his door to exit his room.
I waited outside his door, my face red as well, until I heard him yell that I could come in now.
I walked in slowly. He was sitting on his bed, fully clothed. His face was still a little flushed. "So. Watcha' doin'?" I asked innocently. He started laughing and I joined in.
"It's very interesting to see your reaction to walking into seeing someone almost completely naked a few minutes ago."
I was blushing again after he said this. "Nice smiley boxers, by the way."
"They're Sponge Bob, not smiley, so meh." he said sticking his tongue out at me. I couldn't resist laughing at him and he started laughing along. I was laughing so hard that I fell on his bed, clutching me sides, because of the awkward situation we turned into a funny one. We finally got control of our laughter after a few moments.
"So, what did you want that was so important that you barged into my room while I was getting dresses?"
"Well. . . ." I trailed off, looking at him. He had a look on his face that said 'go on.' So I did. "I got bored." I answered truthfully.
"And you couldn't bothered someone was wasn't almost naked?"
"Well, I didn't know you would be in here doing a strip tease. If I knew you were, I would've invited friends over." I said sarcastically. He face-palmed himself and soon we were both laughing again.
"Guys! Dinner!" We heard Mrs. Lansing call from downstairs.
"Come on, Logan." Austin said, offering his hand to help me up. I gladly took it and followed him downstairs.
When we got downstairs, there were pizza boxes on the counter, surrounded by the brothers. I went up and grabbed two pieces of my favorite kind, sausage.
"Hey, Logan." Cole said, standing awkwardly next to me. "Look, I'm sorry about abandoning you after school. It's just, Allison. . . ."
"It's fine." I cut him off, not wanting him to go into any details. "Besides, Gabe gave me a ride home."
His jaw clenched slightly at the mention of Gabe's name. "You mean Gabe Schmidt?"
"If he's the guy that lives on this street named Gabe, then yes. Why?"
"Yeah, that's the one. And it's nothing, just a basketball thing." his jaw unclenched. "So, are you guys, like, friends or something?" he asked.
"Yeah, we have almost every class together and I met him when your mom took me shopping over the weekend."
"Cool." he said, before making his way to the table.
"Oh, yeah, Cole. You don't need to give me a ride anymore. Gabe said he would. Plus your parents are getting me a car this weekend."
"M'kay." he muttered before finishing his way to the table.
I heard he was mad about them being co-captains, but who knew it would make him so hostile towards Gabe?

A/N: Sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, I had writers block, but still feel free to comment, vote, and add this story to your library because I know you love to.
Teaser For Next Chapter: Get to know a little more about Gabe and Logan, but it's basically a filler chapter.
When I was editing the cast list for the next chapter, it wouldn't let me have more than 20 characters :'( So, just that everyone knows, Laura Marano will be Natalie(Nat).
