Chapter 2
I didn't know what I was feeling. I was all tongue tied I couldn't make out any sounds. My heart just melted with his touch. I managed it say my name,"I'm...I'm..Kalel." By then I was shaking, I was pretty sure that he noticed because I saw a small smirk creep on to his face. Louis, as I found out his name was, was still holding on to my hands. "Again I am terribly sorry for running into you, but I really hope you wouldn't mind if I could ask you for your number?" Louis asked but there was something about his voice that made my knees buckle a little. Luckily he was still holding on so I didn't completely fall. But again I some how managed to choke out my number as he put it in his phone.
As he started to walk away with his friends,he turned around and winked at me and turned around again. Livi took my hand and spun me around,"What just happened?!" She said in a hushed voice. I looked her right in the eyes,"I have no idea," I replied. She shook me and lightly slapped me but I didn't feel it because I was still so starstruck about what just happened. "Well snap out of it, it's girls day remember?" She said almost yelling at me. "Right,right I promise no more boys, just girls day."
It was almost 8 at night Livi and I had spent our whole day there. But it was quite exciting day, besides meeting Louis, we had so much fun going on every ride possible. We had simple fair food, a hotdog, pretzel, soda, nothing out of the ordinary but it was that we both had fun that counted. I drove her back to her house. We said our good-byes and I waved as I drove off.
I was almost up to my apartment when I heard a noise coming from my right-side pocket. I took out my phone and gasped. My whole home screen was covered from messages from Louis. I opened them and read every single one of them. But the one that caught my attention the most read,"Are you free Friday? I would like to take you out to dinner ;) x Louis". I couldn't even believe that really just asked me to go on a date with him.
I went asleep unusually early that night. I set my alarm for 8 a.m. so that I could buy new clothing for Friday. I texted Livi and our other friend Lynsey to help me find clothing. I trust their help to find the perfect outfit.
I woke up to the sound of the alarm I set the night before. I jumped up from my bed and ran to the kitchen. I threw a few herbs and fruits into to blender to make a protein shake. I hit the 'blend' button. I ran back to my room to throw on some clothes. I really didn't care if they matched, I was so excited and I had only today to look so I wanted to get any early start. I was now back in the kitchen so I could turn off the blender. I grabbed a cup with a lid so I wouldn't spill any in my car. Now it was time to go pick up my friends.
We made our way to out favorite locally owned boutique. I was sure I would find something good in there. "Okay, Kalel you don't wanna go all fancy on him on the first date so let's keep it semi-causal," the muffled sound had come from Lynsey who had her face buried in the clothes rack. She threw me a few things so I made my way to the dressing room. The first thing I picked up was a sweater that would be huge on me. 'Lynsey' I muttered as I knew she would find something oversized. The sweater was a cream colored with simple Aztec designs all along the sweater. I turned to the mirror. It didn't look half bad on me, which was a first. Nothing ever looked good on me.
"Cute!" Livi said standing up the admire the sweater. The only expression on Lynsey's face was disappointment. "Why didn't you try on the whole outfit?" She pouted. I didn't realized that she gave me bottoms to go with the top. I hurried back into dressing room of fear that Lynsey might actually cry. I saw that she gave me a black pencil skirt to pair with the sweater. The skirt was knee lengthed . I pulled down my jeans and slipped the skirt on tucking and untucking parts of the sweater till it was perfect. I was truly surprised to see that the two together went quite well together. I stepped out once again. Their jaws both dropped. Then Livi stood up and started walking away, "
I'm buying that for you," she yelled.
I got home and felt relaxed that I had gotten an outfit put together in such little time, well of course thanks to my friends. I reach for my phone that I left on the counter all day. I had a couple texts, one which was from Louis. "Are you free Friday? Your killing me
:(".
Dang it!
I forgot to reply back! I immediately sent a comforting text say that I was free and I had gone and gotten an outfit for tomorrow. He almost sent that next text as soon as I sent mine. He asked if 7 was alright and I confirmed and gave him my address.
I was official, my first date with Louis was tomorrow at 7 p.m.
