Violence is visited on Marcus. He whimpers under the raw sting of the slap to his wrist by the crazy possessed teacher.
None of the students are quite able to work out why the teacher has chosen to act out of character. She belittles Marcus further with condescending words, as the mewling boy sulks even more.
Isolated and in his own corner, Marcus is forced to lick his wounds and listen to the bitter bile being spat his way by the biology teacher. He had made driven a cart through too many fences. There weren't too many friends in his corner to give credit to any story he would tell to the appropriate authorities.
He couldn't go above the teachers head. Silence and salty tears were to be his wicked companion.
