Tanner's POV
It's been exactly a week. She hasn't gotten any better. They say they're going to pull the plug tomorrow if she doesn't wake up.
I don't know what to do.. I screamed and cried at them all this morning trying to fight back, telling them to give her a little bit longer. They didn't budge at all.
Don't they care about other people? They're a hospital for God's sake and all they're doing is making me depressed...
Right now I am sitting in that one chair next to her bed that I haven't left for two days. I haven't been to school since the "incident" and I have no clue what's going on because Taylor is too scared to tell me. She's scared I'll be even more upset by hearing whatever it is she's keeping from me.
She doesn't understand that the only thing that could make me even more upset than I am now is if Kacey never wakes up.
I haven't eaten or slept in 3 days, and I am so tired. I feel my eyes start to get heavy, and then close.
Before I fall asleep, I hear her beautiful voice, "I love you too Tanner." Am I imagining it? I open my eyes to see her fully awake.
"K-Kasey?" I let out a struggled sob. She nods, smiling so hard, a tear falling down her cheek.
"How long have I been in a coma?" She asked, looking scared of the answer.
"Exactly a week." I reply. "Tristan, Taylor, Quentin, Dylan and I have all been visiting you, everyday." I add.
"Have.. have my dad and sister come?" She asks in a small voice.
I frown and slowly shake my head, no.
She nods, and another tear strolls down her beautiful pink cheeks.
I just realized, her cheeks are pink. She has color in her!
I get out from the chair and hug her, being careful of her wound, but showing my love for her nonetheless.
"Do you need anything?" I ask her, as I slowly pull away from the hug.
"I need to know what happened to Lexi." She says.
"I-I don't know.. Tay won't tell me.." I reply.
Kasey's POV
I'm so happy I get to see him again. For the entire week, it's like I've been awake, but I'm not. I could hear everything he said.
I just want to know what happened to Lexi..
What happened to the other kids on the bus?
What happened at all??
Tanner hugs me again. "I missed you." He says. "Crap! I should probably get a nurse!"
I nod and laugh lightly as he gets up and yells for a nurse.
The nurse walks in. "Oh honey I'm so glad you're awake! They were going to pull the plug!" She says.
I just nod. She asks me a few questions and I answer them all truthfully.
After the nurse leaves, Taylor walks in looking nervous.
"Taylor what's wrong?" I ask her.
"I... uhhh.. L-Lexi escaped f-from the police.." she says.
