A New Start

Last night was very exhausting for Chrissy Hall. After almost an hour of unpacking her belongings from the cardboard boxes and having all her furniture fixed up in her room, she barely managed to get any sleep.

Her family had recently moved into a new house. It was in the same city but a little far away from her school. Her parents owned a manufacturing firm and the main set up of the business was on the outskirts of the city.

However, her school was only an hour train journey from her new house. She don't own a car yet so the only means of travel is either bus or the train. Obviously, trains are the best.

It was quite early in the morning and she had a train to catch in another forty minutes. Managing to leave the comfort of her new bed, she had a quick shower and put on her school uniform. Chrissy never understood the logic behind uniforms for a senior year student, but never really questioned it. It saved her from picking out clothes early in the morning.

After having a hearty breakfast, she kissed her mother goodbye and run out of the house.

Reaching the train station on time, she board the train and found a seat near the window. The journey was going to be long.

Her thoughts wander to what will happen on the first day in her school. She didn't really have a good experience with friends in her previous school. Her mild social anxiety and her politeness were somewhat the reason her friends, her crush, and her best friend didn't bother to be in contact with her. She was smart enough to the point that she managed to leave her past behind and move on.

Silently staring out of the window she wondered how her new school would be. Would she be able to start all over again? Will she be able to fit in? Would people judge her?

Slightly shaking her head at her own stupidity, she came out of her reverie.

She did a cursory glance of her fellow passengers when she noticed a lady, around twenty-eight years, staring at her in a very creepy way. Even after that lady noticing that Chrissy had caught her staring, she did not stop. In fact she sat up more straight and continued staring at her with a blank face and with a speck of curiosity filled look.

Finally deciding that she was going to ignore the lady, Chrissy started looking around once again. Now that she would be traveling on a daily basis, she wanted to remember the frequent travelers.

Suddenly, her eyes caught a group of boys who were talking and laughing loudly. Their voices ringing around the compartment. What caught her eyes was a certain brown-haired boy who had an angelic face was quietly chuckling adorably while his friends laughed boisterously at a certain joke.

He had a wide smile on his face which made Chrissy nearly impossible to keep her from staring. She was mesmerized. He had a lean body with short black hair and nearly hazel eyes, a long nose on which was perched his rimless black and red glasses. She couldn't really figure out what was his eye color because he was sitting a bit far. His fingers entangled in his bag strip and his eyes attentive to what his friend was saying.

As if he sensed her stare, he looked at her way and after a few seconds gave her a breathtaking smile and a small nod.

Chrissy sat in her seat, frozen and eyes wide with a dear-caught-in-light look sprawled on her face. Face red, she gave him a small smile and turned to look away, her curtain of a hair covering her face.

Chrissy tried hiding the blush but it was clear that the boy saw it. Slightly amused and finding the situation cute, the boy turned to look away.

"Great! You were calling the lady a creep and the next moment you get caught staring at that boy.....!!" She murmured under her breath, totally embarrassed by herself, slightly scratching her forehead

Quickly pushing her thoughts out of the window (oh the pun), she started listening to music to distract herself but after every five minutes, she found her mind and eyes wandering towards a certain boy with brown hair and rim-less glasses.
