Kylie's POV
Hi! I'm Kylie Finn. Simple, average teenage girl. I have a plain brown hair and my hazel eyes. I'm sometimes sweet, sometimes mean. Yeah, I guess you can call me moody.
I grew up where I think that work is the number one priority in life.
Or maybe I learned it from my parents, considering that they are mostly gone, always on a business trip. They are both bank managers
and they are my role model.
I think to be a successful adult like them, you need to work to achieve whatever you want.
Since then, I rejected every boy who asked me out on a date.
My excuse was always, "sorry, I have to study." As I put a sympathetic face.
I would feel a little bit guilty but it would be gone afterwards.
And I also believe that it takes time to fall in love and I don't have time for that. So I prefer to study or sometimes hang out with my best friends.

BEEEP!
I groaned.
I sat up and picked up my alarm clock to turn it off.
"I hate Mondays." I muttered to myself.
"Honey-" My mum came came barging in my room, "oh I see you're awake. I was just about to wake you up," she said in astonishment. "There's breakfast downstairs. You can come down now if you want." My mum suggests.
I never really have breakfast with my parents anymore.
Considering the time and school, we always seem to be in a hurry to leave in the morning that we forget to say 'bye's' or 'I love you's'.
It's also the same every night. It's either they'll come home late and we're too sleepy to wait for them or we'll come home late and my parents would be doing work assignments and would be busy to have time for us.
Wait, I said 'we' didn't I? Well, seems like I forgot to mention, I have an older brother named Sam. He's 18 years old and he's in college but still lives here.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah. Back to the topic.
They even barely talk to each other anymore, or even have a family time.
I shook those thoughts out of my head and looked at my mum, "Sure, mum. I'll be down in a minute, just let me get ready." I smiled at her.
She smiled in return and went downstairs.
I went to my dresser and picked something to wear.
I wore a light blue sweater and white pants, then I decided to check the time, it was 7:00AM which gives me an hour to eat breakfast.
I went down for breakfast to see that there's only my mum and dad.
"Morning," I kissed their cheeks. "Where's Sam?" I asked.
"He went to college early, dear." my mum said, handing me my favourite breakfast; bacon.
"Thanks mum." I smiled and ate my delicious breakfast.
---
I finished with a small burp then excused myself to go upstairs.
I was about to walk downstairs when I heard my phone ringing.
When I looked at it, Claire, my best friend's name flashed through the screen.
"Hello?" I said, answering the call.
"Hey, Kylie." I rolled my eyes. I can imagine her smirking for some reading I don't know.
"Well hello, to you too." I smirked.
I can imagine her rolling her eyes, but also smirking.
"Anyway, do you want me to pick you up?" She asked.
"Of course," I smiled even though she can't see me.
"Be there in 5!" And she hung up.
I gathered my things and put them in my shoulder bag.
When I got out, Claire's car was already in front of my -well, our house.
Getting in I was greeted by silence, when I looked at Claire's face, she was serious.
"Ky," she started, taking a deep breath. "I know I've asked this a million times," she paused and I just look at her. Just get to the point, woman! "Why haven't you got a boyfriend yet?"
That question got me off guard.
"I don't know Claire," my voice was small and timid, "I just don't have the time." I sighed.
The car ride was then silent and as soon as the car stopped, I got out of the car without saying a word to Claire.
She knows what would happen if she asked me about it, and yet, she still did.
If you're wondering who Claire is, she's my best friend for 5 years and she knows a lot about me. Well, except the reason why I don't have a boyfriend yet.
And the reason why I am not telling her is because I'm afraid she'll laugh at me or something.
She has blonde hair which matches her blue eyes perfectly. She has an older sister named Christina who is currently out of town.
Anyway, back to the story.
She knows I would be upset but why would she ask that? I wonder.
I just shrugged and made my way into our biology class.
-skip school and everything, Kylie's now at home-
Nothing much happened at school. Just heard a few girls talking about a new guy coming tomorrow.
Well, whatever.
I don't really care if there's a new kid at school tomorrow.
I shrugged and went early to bed since I'm really tired.
