chapter 2: Reunions and farewells

"oh my God james baby your alive!!!" Georgia ran up and hugged him

After our reunion we decided to all go up to the house, I parked the van beside the house, helped Cherise get the gear out the van and into the house.

"We have enough rooms for most of yous to have a room each but 2 of you will need to share" Ruairidh explained.

Georgia and James had gone off to their room to "put stuff away". I suppose I should explain, Georgia and James are married, I introduced them to each other at a rugby game, me amd James were playing and Georgia was watching amd they got on like wild fire

After we got everything put into out rooms we decided we were going to go to the lake amd get cleaned, I took the van down to clean all the blood from our guest, amd for the first time in over a month and a half I had a reason to take my body armour and overalls off, I just took the top half off as I hadn't had time to find any trousers but it was so good to see everyone, after I finished cleaning the van I noticed everyone but Sam was in the Lake, so I took the van back up to the house amd went in the house and couldn't find her downstairs then I went upstairs and headed a shower running so I just assumed she was having a shower. After that I went back down to the lake and sat at the side while everyone else was swimming and cleaning amd playing. We stayed there for about 2 hours before we went up to the house fir dinner, still no sign of Sam so I went back up stairs, as j was walking to the door I heard my boots on the carpet, the now wet and bloody carpet.

"SAM!! OPEN THE DOOR ITS SHAUN COME ON OPEN UP" I shouted this as I hit the door as hard as I could with my palm, nothing I kept doing this for 5 minutes nothing happened, I then ran down to the van and grabbed the first aid kit ams the battering ram Georgia and everyone else seen and tries asking what was wrong but I just Went up to the door

"SAM GET BACK FROM THE DOOR" I shouted one last time.

After that I stated to hit the door with the ram. After 3 hits the door swing open, I dropped it grabbed the first aid kit and ran in to the niw flooded bathroom, pulled back the shower curtain only to see Sam lying in the bath with a knife in the middle of blood soaked top. Ny this time everyone else had came up to see what happened, All I could do was fall to my knees amd cry, for the first time in many years j was crying. Not just because Sam had died but because I lost my best friend, who was like a sister to me. One by one everyone left till it was just me and Cherise, she came over and put her arm round my shoulder and pulled me into a hug, we had both known Sam the longest out of everyone here, after 5 minutes Cherise turned off the water, got some towels and placed them on the floor, me and Cherise them lifted her out and placed her down on the towels. As Cherise stood up she seen a note next to the sink Andrea it aloud.

I'm sorry I had to do this to yous but I was infected, I zombie had cut my back. When yous went to the lake the infection started to take over my body, I wish I could have told yous, especially shaun and Cherise but I didn't want to put yous in any harm so I before I completely turned I ended it, I just want yous to know I'm happy were I am now amd hope yous can all survive this.

After Cherise read it out, we decided we would take the knife out of her chest and give her a proper burial, me and Cherise took her top off and replaced it with another top she loved, a Dr who top we then wrapped hee in the towels and tied them before carrying her body outside, since she was infected we decided cremation was the safest and most humane option.

After we gathered some wood and piled it up we stayed our final farewell to Sam amd placed her onto the wood then light it.

After that everyone was silent and sitting in the living room I was in my room amd slept Cherise and Georgia came in a few times as the night went on, it hit me and Cherise the hardest. She couldn't sleep well so I gave her my bed, I had one of the larger bed's amd I slept on the chair at the bottom of my room and we just slept till late afternoon the next day.
