chapter 6: presentation.

5 years later

Mount Road Berry secondary school, class 5D.

"so its been 5 years since then and I'll tell you this our groups still really close. Cherise and Eve got married about 3 years ago. Georgia is married to a member of the army force here, they got married 2 years ago and have to children. Ash he's the oldest then there's Jane who was born was born about.... Suzanne when was Jane born?"

"2 month ago"

"there you go 2 months. then there's me and Suzann married for 4 years and still going strong.  How many of you males want to get married?"

a number of them raised their hands.

"right I'll tell you a wee secret, if  you want to get her a ring the jewellers In the town down the road has a lot of them so go have a look. but back to the story. me and Suzanne have been going strong for 4 years and to be perfectly honest she makes everyday of my life better. Suzanne is there anything you want to add?"

"hmm I don't know. eh being a medic or having medic training makes the apocalypse much easier."

"that's very true. did you know I still had my GLOCK from when we arrived?"

"no I did not"

"any questions?"

after a few questions the bell went for the end of the day. As we were getting ready to leave a kid came up to us

"do you mind if I ask yous two a few questions?"

"sure fire away"

"so basically we're to write an essay on someone we find inspiring and I was wondering if yous would be okay with me doing it on yous two?"

"sure I don't mind, Suzanne you okay with it?"

"yep. what do you want to know."

"you mentioned about your friends daughters, did you ever find them?"

"sort of. we found one eating the other."

"oh, I'm sorry to hear that. hmm, do you think being in the police and having medical training help you to make it this far."

"it definitely helped but whether it helped me get this far I do not know."

"last few questions,  number one, do you think the apocalypse will end and number two, is it easy to find love in the apocalypse, number three, how do yiu keep your relationship strong during the apocalypse?"

"those are very interesting questions. I don't know, It might eventually, it is of you know where to look and when you love.the person as much as I love Suzanne then nothing cam get between you and the one you love."

After that me and Suzanne walked back to our room holding hands, we basically done that everywhere we went. Once we got back we took off our uniforms. When I opened our wardrobe and after I put mine and Suzanne's uniforms in I looked in the corner amd seen my old uniform I wore when we arrived. After a few minutes there was a knock on the door. Suzanne opened it and we seen Georgia standing there.

"We still good for tonight?"

"I think so, what time was it?"

"I think It was abiut 7:30"

After another few minutes Suzanne closed the door and came back to the bed room, I was sitting on the side of the bed cleaning my boots, she came over and sat next to me.

"you know, since we.came here I'm the happiest I've ever been"

"aww baby your so sweet, I'm glad we found yous in the bunker that day."

We just sat there chatting for an hour before we decided to get a few hours sleep. It was about 10 in the morning and we had been on an emergency call last night after a fire broke out. We were there to assist the medical staff. Before we fell asleep Suzanne turned over and looked at me.

"you know, there's something we haven't done in a while just yoi me and the bed"

We looked each other in the eyes amd at the same time said "build a fort"

After about an hour while we were sitting in our fort I looked at my watch,  December 25th. Many people had given up on Christmas because of the apocalypse. I quickly went into the bottom drawer of my bed side unit and pulled out a small parcel with a bow on it.

"shaun you shouldn't have, I've not gotten anything for you."

"baby your love is a present enough"

After that she opened her present. I had gotten her a dress she had seen when we were on a supply run. Base policy dictated that any and all supply runs require at least two medical personnel.
After that she tried it on, perfect fit.

"do yiu think I should wear this tonight?"

"it looks stunning on you, and I think you should."

After she tried it on she hung it up for that night.

"hmm what should I wear?"

"what about your dress uniform because I don't think you have any thing else dressy do you?"

"I do not nope Haha"

We looked at the time, we still had about 6 hours before we needed to get ready. We decided we woukd get a few hours sleep after last night.

When we woke up it was about 17:13 in the evening we got up and started getting ready, I went for a shower  and then when I came out Suzanne went for one, while she was in I polished my dress shoes and got dressed. When Suzanne came out she had a towel round her torso and her hair in that weird towel turban thing that women do. I went for a shave and brushed my teeth and stuff.

When I came out Suzanne has put on the dress. And done her makeup

"you look stunning babe, where's the cake we were taking?"

"bottom shelf of the fridge"

After I got the cake we grabbed everything we needed and went off to get Georgia then we went to Eve and Cherise's place. None of us an actual proper house it was sort of like hotel rooms.

After a few hours me and Suzanne went home.

"that was fun, but I can't wait to get out of this dress"

"I think you look good it really shows off your figure which is stunning."

"aww babe your to sweet"

We got back to the room and opened to the door and we went in. Once we closed the door me and Suzanne went to bed. We both had the next 4 days off we decided to spend them together at home. After abiut 10 minutes we were both sleeping.
