~Garroth's POV~
My laughter soon stopped as I stepped up to the carniVal grounds. The day hadn't really even started yet and I already hated it.
Everyone there gave me the same stares. Either the ones of pity or the ones of disgust, or even a mixture of both.
Maybe I look worse than I thought..
No. I thought I looked fine.... Suddenly, my manager stepped up to me.
"Are you sure you can work today Garroth?" He said.
I almost burst out laughing.
Well that was random!
"Duh, why do you think I am here?"
He seemed shaken by my comment at first, but then walked away. People are sure weird.
I went to my stand and acted as usual, but the looks kept coming.
~time skip, hours later~
This is pretty much how my day went. I by 7:30 at night, I was sure that she wasn't coming. The girl, I mean. I guess something in me just wanted to thank her.
Thank her Garroth? Get it together, you don't thank anyone!
Yet something inside me disagreed with my mind.
I looked up to see who was next in line, and saw the one person who i thought I wouldn't.
"Oh, hello again!" She said, her voice as cheerful as ever.
My eaaarrrrsssss
But I was really glad to see her, despite what my head said.
"I hope you're doing alright! But i am holding up the line! Let me order... "
"Purple cotton candy?" I guessed.
"Yeah! How did you know?"
"I guess I'm more observant then I thought.."
Suddenly, a voice I couldn't recognize called out something.
"Come on Aph hurry up! You'll have time to flirt later!!"
"Sorry, gotta run, Katie calls!"
"Wait..." I said as she was about to turn, "what is your name?"
"Well... I'm Ap- WAIT! I don't give my name out just like that. Just call me.... Phe, ok?"
"Phe? Like phenix?" I smirked and tried not to giggle.
"JUST SHUT UP AND GO WITH IT!" She exclaimed. The words she said would have sounded mean if they came out of my mouth, but for Phe, they only sounded fun and playful.
Girls are weird....
