Nicole’s POV

“So how’d it go?” usher asked as we got in the car.

“Fine.” I told him bluntly.

“Ok, well did she say you were improving at all?” he asked as we drove out of the parking lot and onto the main road.

“Yeah.” I said quietly, and shrugging.

He breathed hard obviously getting frustrated with my one word answers. Finally he gave up and we had a quiet ride home.

I jumped out of the car and went straight to my room; I didn’t want to talk to anyone.

I sprawled out on my bed, resting my head on my pillow pet. I took a deep breath before checking my phone.

Hey, up for some shopping today?

It was from Caitlin. I sighed before replying.

I can’t, I promised usher I would spend the day with him. Sorry.

I sent the text, knowing it was a complete lie but honestly all I wanted to do is just be alone.

My phone vibrated next to me.

Oh, ok then maybe tomorrow or this weekend. Have fun. :)

I felt guilty as all hell reading that text but I just can’t face the fact that I almost got killed and the only reason I’m alive right now is because of Justin. The last thing I wanted to do was go hang out with Caitlin so she can tell me all about how he is doing. And the worst part is that I haven’t even gotten to say thank you to him. We aren’t even on speaking terms. Pretty sure he’s gotten over it. Gotten over me.

I rolled over on my side and drifted into a dreamless sleep.

Justin’s POV

“I told you.” Caitlin said holding up her phone to me. She was showing the text confirming to her self that Nicole was a avoiding her.

I rolled my eyes.

“She’s not avoiding you, she had other plans first.” I told her.

“Yeah maybe but this is not the first time she has done this, we have barley hung out in the past week.” She said in exasperation.

“Maybe she just wants to be alone.” I told her.

She sighed.

I squinted my eyes at her through the bright sun. “Just give her time Caitlin. She’ll come around. When she wants a friend, she’ll seek one.” I said putting my hand on her shoulder, giving her a sympathetic look.

She nodded slowly.

I stood up from where I was sitting.

“I’ve got to get going, I have a studio sesh at 5.” I told her slowly.

“Oh yeah, well its 4 now so you should get going.” She said standing up quickly.

“Yeah, I’ll text you after.” I told her giving her a small hug. “Remember what I said, she’ll come around, just give her time.”

She nodded again.

“See ya later.” I said walking into the house and back out the front door.

I hopped in my car and drove home.

I opened the front door of my house, only to hear yelling coming from the kitchen. I furrowed my eyebrows, before rounding the corner until the yelling voices came into view.
