Waking up with a smile on my face this morning is probably the best thing I have experienced in while.

I got up walking into my closet and pulled out some running shorts and a random t-shirt. I threw on my running shoes and out the door I was.

I took in the nice warm morning air. As I made my way down the street something caught my eye as I ran past the Bieber house.

I squinted my eyes trying to get a glimpse of it. I walked up the driveway slowly and walked to the back of the house.

“Hey Nicole.” Pattie greeted me with enthusiasm.

“Hi, what are you doing?” I asked as I walked onto the tennis court.

“Just play around a bit.” She stated.

“By yourself?” I questioned.

She laughed. “Would you like to join?” she asked me raising her eyebrows.

“Oh I don’t know I’m not very good…” I drifted off.

“Oh nonsense, I just started, so it will be like the blind teaching the blind.” She said shrugging.

I laughed. “Why not?” I said walking over to the corner where and extra tennis racquets lay.

“Ok let’s do this.” I said as I walked to the opposite side of Pattie.

She laughed before serving the ball.

*An hour later*

I threw my head back in laughter as Pattie missed the ball by about 3 feet.

“We’re terrible at this.” Pattie stated after she picked up the ball. “I need a break.” She said walking over to the table near the court.

“Same.” I said as I followed her.

As we sat down a butler came over and gave us each a glass of ice tea. I thanked him and took a large gulp of it.

“Sorry to interrupt your run.” Pattie said.

I swiped my hand in the air in front of my face. “It’s no big deal, personally I think this was more fun.” I said with a smile.

She shook her head and laughed.

“Yeah this was an epic fail.”

“Hey a little more practice and we could be in the Olympics.” I joked with her.

We laughed.

“Hey Nicole.” A voice greeted us from behind.

“Oh hey Justin.” I greeted with a smile.

“What are you two goons doing?” he asked looked from me to his mom then back to me.

“Just playing a little tennis.” I stated.

“Hmm, interesting. Well I was just about to call you…want to go get some brunch? Have you eaten yet?” he asked looking at me.

“No I haven’t and yeah sure sounds good.” I said looked over at Pattie.

“This was fun let’s do it again sometime.” I said to her with a smile.

She laughed. “I’m thinking next time we should get a coach or something.” She said.

I laughed. “It wouldn’t hurt.” I said standing up from my chair. “I see you later Pattie.” I said giving her a hug.

“You too sweetie, have fun.” She said as we walked away.
