Aubrey felt butterflies in her stomach, a grin she couldn't contain lighting up her face as her hands trembled.
"So.. Where are we going..?" She asked nervously.
"Optimus gave the order that since the decepticons saw you with me, you were now a target. So, I had to find you again and bring you to meet the team." Ratchet explained, his tires kicking up dirt on the dessert road.
"Optimus..? The team?" She tilted her head, but the medic only pushed it aside and said she'd understand soon enough.
A few minutes later, Aubrey saw the road was gone, they were pretty far into the desert.
"I've never been out so far.." She shifted anxiously in her seat.
"I doubt you would have," Ratchet replied, casually driving towards a large rock formation.
"Um... You're gonna turn right..?" She laughed nervously, knowing it was a stupid question.
"No." Ratchet said with a calm tone.
"What do you mean no ?!" Aubrey laughed again, this time with more firmness. Ratchet didn't reply, unless speeding up is considered one. Aubrey leaned back in the seat. Ratchet was gonna crash, at this speed she could easily be smooshed in an instant. How could she have jumped into a strange robot thing's car mode?? What if those cars that had been chasing them were only chasing them because they wanted to save Aubrey, and only pointed the gun as a bluff. Or maybe neither autobot or decepticon cared about humans and Ratchet was just finishing her off?? Before Aubrey could even duck, the side of the mountain lifted, a tunnel lined with with metal support beams now revealed. Aubrey sighed in relief and kicked Ratchet's dash board.
"Jerk..!" She scowled beneath her breath. Even if he was an ambulance, Aubrey knew he was smirking wherever his face was.
Ratchet reduced his speed, the tunnel opening up to a large room filled with monitors and keyboards, gadgets and tools of all shapes.
"Whoah..." She gasped, looking out the window in awe. All the alien technology and tools and stuff..! But that was just the beginning.
Large metal legs stomped (well, it felt like stomping) up to the car in the center of the room. The door opened, and Aubrey just stared at the massive metallic legs with a gaping mouth.
"Ratchet, is this the human?" The legs boomed.
"Yes, and she would be able to meet you if she'd get out." Ratchet grumbled. Aubrey stood on shaky legs, staring up at the robot (who was much taller than Ratchet) who stared back. Eyes a light glowing blue, with red and darker blue paint on his armor. Aubrey swallowed, closing her mouth. Ratchet transformed-- hey, she liked how that sounded. Transform... She echoed in her head. When Ratchet transformed to his robot mode and stood next to the other robot, it was a bit over whelming.
"I see she's a bit.. Quiet... " The stranger muttered to Ratchet. Although, with his deep voice, muttering must be hard for him.
"Actually, this is as quiet as she' sheen since I've met her." Ratchet shrugged, turning to one of the large computer screens.
"I am Optimus Prime, leader of the autobots." Optimus Prime nodded.
"I-I... I'm A-Aubrey.. Leader of the Local Super Hero FanClub.." She stuttered, her neck getting sore from craning it to look the alien in the eyes. He blinked, seeming to be confused by that last part.
"Erm-- super heros..? You guys don't have those..?" Aubrey asked with a tremble in her voice.
"I.. Don't believe we do." Optimus Prime replied, making Aubrey feel a little stupid..
