Iris, Zayn, and I were at the park. "Iris, you know next week, you have to go to school." I broke it to her whilst she was swinging. "What grade will I be in?" She said sounding all fancy. "1st. Because you're turning six." She turned back and nodded at me in agreement. Her golden hazel locks flowed through the wind as she got higher and higher on the swing set. My fat butt just had three tacos and two hot dogs, so I just sat there. I wasn't trying to break the swing set. I hopped off when Iris did and we laid down next to Zayn on the grass. Zayn, still being picky about his head laid on a pillow. He couldn't understand how Iris and I left our head on the ground. We all stared up into the sky for about ten minutes before we left. on the way home, I stopped by the gym to renew the membership. I sure did need it.
We got home and all took showers. Zayn last, obviously because would take the longest. Iris and I were in the family room watching movies. He was notorious for doing this and it got us every time. He will come behind us and scare us, then he will shake his wet hair hair onto both of us. Afterwards, resume his hour long hair process. "Mommy, can I have some ice cream?" She said trying to use her charming face. "Got to eat dinner first."
*Sorry for the random input, but something told me to look up Muslim laws or per say rules and I did. There are a bunch of prohibited things that are made happen in my book, so Zayn is not Muslim. I don't know what you will categorize him as but my story can't be somewhat true if he is Muslim. Thx for reading. Go ahead and finish and comment below what you think.*
"But...." She complained. "Here, how about this. After dinner, we all go out for ice cream." I made a deal with her. "Ok." She said snuggling up into me. We finished our movie, then started dinner. "Zayn, come on." I said knocking on the bathroom door. Tonight's dinner, lasagna, mixed vegetables, and chicken nuggets for Iris. He ran out feeling happy, for some odd reason. "Okay, let's eat." He said sitting beside Iris. I squirted more ketchup on her plate, and sprinkled salt and pepper on my lasagna. When we were done eating, we went to Yogli Mogli. Then on our way back, Iris and I ran in Target while Zayn waited in the car. I had to pick up some tampons and she wanted some fuzzy house shoes. At checkout I noticed the photo shoot I did with the girls a few weeks back was on the cover of Tiger Beat. Titled, 'Check out the 1D Girls!' I picked it up and let the lady scan it. Just another magazine to lay around the house.
It was pouring down rain, so I carried Iris quickly back to the car. "Look at what I saw." I said showing hi m the magazine. "Oh well looky here. Let's see who is that. Sarai, Natalie, Leona, Tara, and who is that curly haired freak." He said talking about me. "I'll stick my hand in your head." It just got serious. "You didn't let me finish, the beautiful curly haired freak that I love so much." He said trying to save himself and his hair.
We got home, right after I closed the door someone knocked on it. "Zayn, can you get that." I yelled from the bathroom. "Yea." He responded with his voice getting fainter as he walked towards the door. I heard yelling and anger of some sort. When I walked out, at the front door was Brian. Iris was peaking from on the couch to see who it was. I grabbed Iris and took her in the room. Brian stopped arguing when he saw her, he waved and she buried her face in my shoulder crying, not knowing who he was. Once we got in the room I looked at Iris wiping the tears off of her face asking, "Why are you crying?" She huffed for a second not being able to talk but she finally managed to say, "Because daddy is yelling and he's mad." I hated for her not to know who that man was, but she couldn't it would mess her and Zayn's relationship up. I always feared this would happen. "Oh, baby. It's okay. He's not yelling anymore." I said covering her ears. I laid her down and tucked her in the bed, going out to get Zayn. I grabbed Zayn's arm and pulled him away from the door. "Zayn, stop. Iris." he stopped yelling and looked behind him and saw Iris crying her eyes out. "Oh no." He realized what he had done.
"Brian please go. If you don't want to see her cry, it's best." He nodded. "Have a nice night. I'm sorry. I just wanted to see my baby." He said feeling sincere. "Well, that wasn't the best way to do it. Good night." I closed the door and hugged Zayn. "Thank you, for being the man and getting his attention. But you shouldn't have done it in front of her." He put his chin on my crown. "I'm sorry." He apologized. "Not to me." I said turning him around. He walked in the room and Iris threw a pillow at him. He catches it jokingly, but she wasn't she shouted, "Mommy." I ran in the room wondering what was wrong. "Yes, baby." I picked her up and held her marriage style. "I hate daddy." Se said poking her lips out and pointing to him. I looked up at him and he buried his head in his hands and sat down in the chair by the door. "Babe, she doesn't mean it." I said going to comfort him. I lifted his head and sat on his lap and told him why she probably said that. "She only said it because she doesn't like it when anyone gets mad or yells. That's how I was." He layed his head on my chest, showing his tears. "I don't want her to be like that and now i've failed at being a good father." he said wiping his tears off. "I'll go talk to her." I took Iris out of the room and went upstairs into hers.
"Iris, you know you made Daddy cry." She looked up at me and nodded. "But, he's mean." She said. "Can I go stay with uncle and aunty?" She said referring to Harry and Sarai. "Let me call them and see." I would try to make Iris happy for Zayn, but it was only so much that I could do. I walked downstairs because when you walk out of Iris's room there was nothing but stairs. I called Sarai first and I got no answer, then I called Harry still no answer. I text both of them, 'Hey. Sorry for the short notice but Iris wants to come over. I will tell you why. Xo!' They were probably the best friends a girl could ask for. They were very open, especially for Iris. Knowing my story, that is.
"You need to go say sorry, don't you." I told her. "Okay," she said getting of the bed. She walked downstairs and into the room. She didn't see him, I figured he was cooling down. What he does is, no matter how clean he is, he'll sit in the shower and just let the water hit his body. "Zayn, someone wants to see you." I said through the shower door. He got out the shower and dried off, then put some boxers on and some pants. "Sorry, daddy." She said hopping on to him. He grabbed her and held her up. "No, i'm sorry." She got down and listened to him as he spoke. "I had to. He was gonna hurt us, and you. I couldn't let that happen. I love you too much." He said bringing me closer by my waist, "I love both of you, too much." Iris looked up at me and tugged on my shirt sleeves. "Mommy, can we go now?" I knew what she was talking about so without response I checked my phone. With enough luck, Harry and Sarai called and text me. "Yea, go get a bag." I said. "What is she talking about?" He questioned me. "She's going to stay with Harry and Sarai for the night." He looked at me in confusion. "No, I don't want her to go." He said. "Well, I am letting her go." I said gently.
