Meena and Sheeva Afshar are non-identical twin girls. Their parents, Maryam and Shah Afshar, are worried their kids would tell people their secret. When The girls were born, they were both diagnosed with heart failure. Their "uncle" Douglas Davenport, gave them bionics so they could live.
On the first day of kindergarten, Meena meets a boy named Leo Francis Dooley and Sheeva meets a girl named Destiny Jaclyn Loepp. All 4 children become the best of friends.
In the middle of 3rd grade the twins' parents get murdered while they were at a Jennifer Lawrence concert. Jennifer had came outside with the girls to see what had happened. Shocked, Jen quickly covered their eyes and took them inside. She saw how the girls were crying very hard, and asked what was wrong.
"Our parents. Those were our parents." Meena managed to choke out.
Jennifer walked over to them and told the girls that It would be alright, and that she had an idea.
A couple days later the girls were legally adopted to Jennifer Lawrence, and her husband Liam Hemsworth.
A month later Destiny's dad dies in a car accident and she moves in with Sheeva.
In 4th grade, Leo's dad gets murdered so leo and his mom, Tasha, move in with Meena.
The summer of before 10th grade, Tasha gets married to the famous Donald Davenport and moves away from Idaho, but making sure Meena comes with them. when Meena arrives at mission creek, California, she meets the Davenports.
"Hi I'm Meena, what are your guys' names?"
"I'm Bree!"
"I'm Adam!"
"I'm Chase!"
They all became good friends without a doubt, but something happened when Chase and Meena shook hands; a spark.
