chapter twelve: training with bionics

Meena's POV

Home. What is home now? My family is dead, Destiny's dad died, and even though its only been 1 month in my new home, it still feels foreign in my eyes.

I'm currently sprawled, on my bed, while Destiny and Sheeva practice their bionics. Even though I have more bionics, Destiny insisted on doing 50/50 so she can learn from both of us.

"Meena. Meena? Meena! Meeeeeena!!! Wake up!" My eyes slowly flutter open to a Sloth looking person.

"Destiny?" My head shoots up. "Why do you look like a Sloth?"

Destiny looks offended but ignores my comment as a wave of excitement washes over her face. "Come on! You're training me remember?"

"Uh- oh yea... But after training tonight, where are you going to live?" I ask.

"Um well-"

"She's moving in with me." Sheeva cuts her off.

I glare at Sheeva before remembering something.

"WAIT!" I pause. "What are we gonna tell Leo?"

"We'll talk to him later. But now, I need to know how to run... And well... Everything else 'cause Sheeva is a really bad teacher." Destiny says shyly.

"Okay." I laugh.

We walked downstairs and went to the basement, where I have my secret combat room.

"Alright, this is my combat room. I have 2 sticks, 1 for you and 1 for me." I throw her a stick and get into combat formation. Destiny mimics my actions and waits for the signal.

"The bionics we will be using are super speed and geo leap. Got it?" She nods in understanding. "1... 2... 3!"

By the time we were done, it was close to 8pm.

"Should I call Leo now?" I ask.

"Yeah." Destiny pants.

I walk upstairs and get my phone, then walk to the bathroom and dial Leo's number.

"Hello?" Leo says.

"LEO!" I scream.

"MEENA! have you heard??" Leo cries out.

"Yea... Thats what I wanted to tell you..." I pause. "Destinygotintoacaraccidentandshewastheonlysurvivorsowehadtoputbionicsoinherandnowshesbionic." I say in one breath.

"WHAT? Slow down!" Leo screams.

"Destiny got into a car accident and she was the only survivor so we had to put bionics in her and now she's bionic." I say slowly.

"Oh..." Leo says calmly. "WHAT?"

"Okay I'm sorry I didn't tell you before but we got so caught up in everything. I haven't even told Jen and Liam!" I say exhausted.

"Can I at least tell my mom? i mean Its better than letting her find out Christian is dead by a funeral invitation." Leo asks.

"Yeah, that's fine. I'll talk to you later okay? I got to call Jen."

"Okay. talk to you tomorrow." Leo hangs up.

I walk back into the room and sit on my bed.

"What did Leo say?" Destiny asks.

"He surprisingly took it well." I tell her.

"That's nice." Sheeva adds, walking into the room. "Can we eat now?"
