Chapter eight: getting settled

Meena's POV

It was the next day, officially 2 days after... Well you know... My parents were killed. But anyway, today was the day Sheeva and I were getting settled into our new homes. It was Sunday so tomorrow we had to tell Leo and Destiny about what happened.

Anyway, right now Sheeva and I are at the mattress store to get new mattresses for our new beds. I settle on the queen, while Sheeva settles for the king. We pay for the mattresses and go to RC Wiley for some bed covers, and desks.

The bed covers we got were black for Sheeva, and pink stripes for me. We also got matching pillow covers to go with our bed sheets. (I'm not describing it well because you already have the pictures)
We decided on getting some furniture as well since we don't want to touch the stuff at home... Because it remind us of our parents... But anyway we finished shopping and started unpacking into our new homes.

It was late at night when we finished packing, so mom and dad left us alone and we went to sleep in our new beds.

Later that night I woke up In cold sweat from the nightmare I just had. It was about my parents getting slaughtered. But then I realized that was real, and I don't really have parents anymore, I mean besides the 'new' ones- Jen and Liam. I sit up and and pick up my new iPhone 4 and start calling Sheeva. Right as I'm about to press call, Sheeva starts calling me.

"Hello? Sheeva?" I ask.

"Meena, I-I had a dream... About mommy and daddy!" Sheeva cries out.

"So did I Sheeva, wanna come here and sleep by me?" I ask for the 2nd time tonight.

"Yea, I'll be over there in a few minutes." She says and hangs up.

I wait a few minutes, and then I see Sheeva in my room, hugging her platypus stuffed animal. I pat a spot on the bed and move my doggy stuffed animal, Boltie, and Sheeva lays down next to me. We both fall asleep knowing we have each when bad things start to happen.

The next morning was tough. How were we suppose to explain to Leo and Destiny, we witnessed our parents killed at our new Moms concert?

My thoughts were interrupted by a honk outside my room. Sheeva and I walk downstairs and open the door to see a guy with sunglasses and a suit.

"H-hello? Can we help you?" I ask.

"Mrs. Lawrence sent me to pick you and your sister up for school. So lets go." The man said.

"What's your name?" Sheeva questions.

"Sebastian. Sheeva will have a Driver/Butler as well named Alfred." Sebastian said.

"I'm gonna call you Sebby ok? Ok." I say.

"Yes miss." He said in a monotone voice.

"Ok Sheevie, lets go to school I guess." I say in a nervous voice. I am not ready to see them right now.

We get to school and slowly make our way to the front office to tell them what happened.

"U-uh M-mrs. Kim, w-we like t-to tell you s-something." I stutter.

"What is it sweetheart?" Mrs. Kim asks.

We tell her about what happened and she looks at us with disbelief.

"S-so you witnessed your parents m-murdered?" She questions flabbergasted.

"Y-yes." Sheeva and I sniffle.

"Oh you poor kids. Come here." Mrs. Kim says and gives us a hug.

We let go and head towards class. As we make a sharp turn we see that Leo and Destiny were eavesdropping on our conversation.

"Your parents died???" Leo asks shocked.

"Yeah... But on the bright side, I have celebrity parents..." I say trying to lighten up the mood.

"Oh my god Meena! Sheeva I'm so sorry!!" Destiny says and pulls Sheeva and I into a hug. Leo joining it.

We just stand there hugging until Leo pulls away.

"Just know we will always be there for you." They say, and we walk to class.

"I know."
