Chapter 1

"Thank you. Your gate is on the right hand side. Have a nice flight!" the lady behind the counter said as she scanned my ticket and pointed me in the right direction.

I stepped into the plane and was greeted by three lovely stewardesses, standing along the crowded corridor to help people settle in as they found their seats.

"25 E," I silently whispered to myself while looking at the ticket and finding my seat about in the middle of the plane.

I put my coat in the luggage box above the seats and sat down to buckle up.

To be sure I would be picked up at the airport by the man I was renting a room from, I took my blackberry out of my purse to text him,

Dear Mr. Harries,

I appreciate your quick response concerning the contract about the short period of time I will be renting a room in your residents.
I will be arriving at London airport 19:47 pm the 13th of june.

Sincearly,
Charlie Jones

I put my phone back into my purse and waited for the plane to board.

'This is your captain speaking. We will be arriving in London 19:47 pm ..." the captain went on explaining as the plane left the gate and headed for the runway.

The plane took up speed and lifted off the ground.

It took approximately 15 minutes before the notification sign went off and we were allowed to unbuckle our seatbelts, so I fetched my glasses and the new book which I had bought at the airport and started reading.

"Ham or cheese?" The stewardess tapped my shoulder and asked me as she came along with the trolly.

I must have drifted off to sleep because she woke me up as she asked me what sandwich I would like.

"No, thank you." I replied and shifted my position as I yawned and tilted my head to the side to stretch my neck.

I looked out the window, noticing the grey clouds surrounding us and the lightning I spotted from far away as it lit up the sky.

The plane started to shake a bit and suddenly fell down a couple of meters, causing a few women on board to scream.

"We will be experiencing a bit of turbulence, so please put your seatbelts on and remain calm." The captain announced to us through the speakers.

I heard seatbelts clicking as other passengers buckled up to prepare for a crash landing, but the rest of the flight went perfectly normal as always.

"... and thank you for choosing British airlines." The captain finished off as the aircraft parked in front of the gate and the passengers got up from their seats to leave the plane.

"Bye! Bye. Have a nice day, bye. Bye." The stewardesses stood by the exit to wish the passengers a good bye.

I walked trough the gate and followed a sign saying baggage claim, and reached a massive hall packed with people where hundereds of bags were going around in a circle to get picked up by their owners.

My palms got sweaty and my heart started beating faster by excitement as I saw my bag coming around the corner.

"Excuse me? Sorry. Uh, sorry!" I excused my way through the crowd standing around the baggage trail, and as I reached for my bag, I realized I wasn't the only one.

I turned to the person who was taking hold of my bag "Sorry, but this is my bag." I said, looking at the guy who was ready to lift my bag of the trail.
