I haven't mentioned Ethan or Jakob in this book at all and I know Bailee hasn't met them but just pretend that they already have because Ethan is a big character in this chapter

I ended up falling asleep in my room. The next morning Mum and Dad aren't home, so it's just Hunter and I. "Hi Bailee, how are you feeling? I heard what happened with you, Chris and Dad." He says. "I'm feeling a bit better but I'm pissed." I say. I walk into the living room and go on my phone.

"Hey Ethan!" I hear someone say outside. "Hey Chris." I hear again. It was Chris. I walk up to the window and see Chris and Ethan in the front garden. I could see them perfectly from where I was standing, but then they walked into Chris' house.

I start running around the house to find out where they are and I hear them outside. They're sitting on Chris' skateboard ramp. I go to my fence and look through a whole, which gives me full view of the two boys.

"What's wrong?" Ethan asks Chris. "Bailee broke up with me yesterday. No explanation, no eye contact, nothing. She just said 'we're over' and left." Chris explained to Ethan. "Woah, are you serious?" Ethan says shocked. "Yeah, I can't believe it either." Chris says.

"How about I go talk to her?" Ethan asks "I'll see her side of the story." "Yeah, I'd like that." Chris says with a small smile. Ethan gets up and starts walking inside the house, while Chris stays sitting on the ramp with his head in his hands. I could hear quick breathing, he was crying, all because my dad wanted me to break up with him.

I was woken from my thoughts when Hunter came outside. "Bailee, there's a boy at the front door asking for you." Hunter says. Oh crap, Ethan was coming to talk to me, and I don't even know what to say; the truth or a lie.

I run into the house and slow my pace as I get to the door. I open it and Ethan's standing there. "Oh, hi Ethan." I say pretending to be surprised. "Hi Bailee, can we talk?" He asks. "Uh sure, what about?" I reply acting like I don't know what about, when I actually do. "Uh, lets go outside." He says walking back to the front garden.

We sit down facing each other. "Can I ask why you broke up with Chris? He's pretty sad right now. He just wants to know, since you didn't give him an explanation." Ethan explains. Do I give him the truth or a lie? "Ok, I broke up with him because my dad didn't want us to be together." I say. "So, you wanted to be with Chris, but your dad doesn't want you together?" He asks. "Yeah..." I say. "Is that all?" I ask. "Yeah, thanks for that Bailee." He says. We both get up and I go straight to the backyard to see what happens. I get there before Ethan does and Chris hadn't moved from where he was.

"Chris, I talked to her." Ethan says. Chris' face lights up. "What'd she say?" He asks. "She said that she broke up with you because her dad didn't want you guys together." Ethan says. "So she wanted to be with me but her dad didn't." Chris repeats to clear up his confusion. "Yeah." Ethan says. "Well, what do I do now?" Chris asks. "I'd say talk to her dad. See why he's against you too being together, and then surprise her and ask her to be your girlfriend." Ethan suggests. "That's a great idea, I'm going to do that." Chris says.

I walk back into the house shocked and happy about what's going to happen. I just hope I forget about the surprise part so then it actually is one.
