~Zelda~

I wake up with the sun shining bright in my eyes. I push the blanket away from me and slide off the bed.

Link is still sitting by the fire like he was last night, I tap him on the shoulder and he jumps, "oh, Zelda, your up" he rubs the back of his neck and walks over to a bucket of water. He dips his hands in and splashes water onto his face.

He seems very tired, the dream he had must have kept him awake, a image flashes through my head but disappears before I can identify it.

I walk over to Link, "are you okay? You seem very tired, I think you need to rest before you do anything" I state. He shakes his head "no! I don't need sleep, I'll be fine." He walks over to where his clothes lay and pulls his shirt over his head. He winces at the pain of moving his shoulder, but quickly gets over it.

"Link?"

He looks up at me.

"What was your dream about last night?"

He stays quite, "I don't want to talk about it."

"Please, I might be able to help."

He shakes his head, "I said I don't want to talk about it" he looks over at me with a cold stare.

I turn away and climb back up the ladder to get dressed.

I put on my crown and climb back down the ladder to see Link grabbing his sword and shield, "where are you going?"

"To the spirits spring, I'll be back in a bit, just stay here, okay?"

I nod, but I am confused, why would he want me to stay here? The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to follow him.

He closes the door behind him and I count to ten before I go and look out the window. I see him turn the corner to the spring so I quickly open the door and follow him.

I walk slowly so he won't see me but fast enough so I can see him.

He turns into the spring and I see a bright light come from there, the spirit has awoken.

I run and stop just before the entrance, I peek around the corner to see Link sitting on the edge of the water.

"What seems to bother you O chosen hero?" The spirit asks

"I-I had a nightmare last night.....I would like to know if it was just a dream or if it has something to do with the near future."

The light spirit looks down with despair, "the dream you had is most likely something that shall happen sometime in the future, I am not sure when, but you must prepare for it."

Link it quiet, "that means....Zelda....No! I will not let that happen to her!" he yells.

Not let what happen to me? I must know what he dreamt about.

"I cannot let her die" He whispers to himself, but I hear him perfectly.

I gasp, too loudly and he sees me, I run to the nearest tree and hide behind it, so this was my future? Death?

I slide down the tree and I find myself crying, I did not want to die, not so soon, I am only 18, I have barely lived this life.

I hear Link call my name, but I do not want to respond. I do not want him to yell at me for following him, now I wish I hadn't, sometimes the truth is just too painful.

Link finally spots me under the tree, "Zelda" he nearly whispers before he runs over to me.

Before he says anything he wraps his arms around me, "I'm so sorry" he whispers into my ear.
