****Niall's POV****
I walked quickly with my head down to the freezer section, but it seemed to be taking forever. I told myself over and over that I was safe at the grocery store because people were there and if something were to happen there would be witnesses! I also knew I was safe because Liam was with me...I mean not at that moment, but he was still there. But that hadn't mattered when we were at home...Liam had only been in the other room and I lost it.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" some guy mumbled as I ran into him, but I just nodded as I kept looking at my feet, scared to see who the man was.
"Sorry," I murmured as I finally reached the ice cream aisle. I lifted my head up and licked my lips as I let my eyes linger over the different flavors. I saw someone standing behind me and I squinted in the glass to try and make out what they wanted.
"Come on Niall, get something yummy like chocolate so we can snuggle together and eat it while we look at your fiance's flayed body," the all too familiar voice spoke and I spun around to see Zayn with Harry and Louis standing behind me with their weapons of choice including: a knife, gun and baseball bat. I scrambled against the glass, glancing left and right to find nobody in the aisle with me. I was lost for what to do as they slowly neared me so I screamed bloody murder. They continued nearing me and Zayn's sinister grin grew as he twisted the knife around in his hand.
"Be quiet Niall, or I'll have to make you watch," Zayn hissed and I tried to scramble further into the glass, but it was no use; they weren't getting any farther away.
"NO! NO! STOP PLEASE! HAVEN'T YOU HURT US ENOUGH!" I screamed, tears blurring my vision, but I suddenly felt someone slapping my face and screaming.
"SNAP OUT OF IT NIALL!" Liam's voice suddenly woke me up. I blinked a few times and found myself on the floor with people surroundng me and Liam clutching my face once more. He looked terrified and unsure of what he was supposed to do. I panted as everyone around me looked at me like I was crazy, but I was only looking at Liam.
"He's alright...just a little sick and must've had a panic attack," Liam quickly covered for me as the people began to disperse. Liam kissed my forehead forcefully as he helped me up and hugged me close.
"What ice cream do you want babe?" he asked softly and I swallowed hard and frowned. He just gave me a kiss as I leaned forward and grabbed some Cookies n' Creme.
"We have to go get the cart now," Liam whispered, his arm securely around my waist as we began heading to the other side of the store. I could see clear stress in Liam's eyes and I knew Liam wanted to scream at me and tell me I was crazy, but he didn't and I didn't know why.
"Liam, are you mad?" I asked quietly as Liam picked up the loaf of bread. He sighed and closed his eyes as he gently shook his head. He wrapped his arms around me and he held my head gently. I buried my face into Liam's shoulder and he kissed my cheek.
"I'm not mad, why would I be mad? It's not your fault. I'm just...I'm worried about you; really worried," Liam whispered, holding me tighter and I held him back and nodded.
"I'm sorry," I whimpered and Liam pulled back, shaking his head as he kissed me.
"No, stop it Niall. You don't need to apologize for anything alright? We just got to get ourselves straightened out. The sooner we move on from the past, the faster we can get planning and the faster we get married," Liam grinned and that did make me smile. I nodded quickly, pulling his lips to mine for a few seconds before I released him and we headed to the checkout. I watched Liam pay for the groceries as I loaded the bags in the cart and we were finally out of there. I held Liam's hand firmly as we headed to the car and reminded myself that Zayn was locked up and was never ever going to hurt me or my precious Liam again.
"So what do you say we watch a movie, eat ice cream and cuddle when we get home?" Liam asked as we got in the car and he started home. I smiled and nodded, squeezing his hand as I gave it a kiss.
"Sounds perfect," I replied as Liam turned up the radio a little bit. I knew Liam was just trying to pretend everything was okay, but I could see how scared he was just by the way he was gripping the steering wheel and the way he was chewing on his lip furiously. I looked out the window, feeling incredibly guilty for putting Liam through all of this.
"Here, you go ahead and take the ice cream in and pick out a movie okay?" Liam asked as we pulled in the driveway and I saw his phone in his hand. I knew he was going to call someone and complain about my actions and how I'd finally gone off the deep end, but I reluctantly nodded and headed inside. I set the ice cream on the coffee table and peered outside as I saw Liam talking to somene as he ran his hand through his hair and was shaking his head. He bit his lip and I saw tears in his eyes. I couldn't bear to look anymore, so I turned away and I slumped down on the couch. I always knew Liam would've been better off if I'd never walked into his life and now it was even clearer. I looked up as Liam came in with a smile and he frowned as he came over to my side.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Hearing or seeing things?" Liam asked quickly as he sat with me and held my hand tightly. I shook my head gently and pulled my hand from his. He looked down in surprise before looking back at my face.
"What's wrong?" he asked, sounding absolutely heartbroken as he touched my cheek.
"You're better off without me and me going crazy. I know that's what you were on the phone about. Probably Kate right?" I asked and Liam just sighed as he looked down.
"It was Kate, and I was just telling her about...what was going on. She told me that I needed to put you in a special home and move on in my life without all the stress you've brought, but I told her I'd never do that to you because I know you're going to get better and because I love you so entirely much and can't ever fathom the thought of never seeing you again," he spoke, looking into my eyes and holding my hand firmly.
"Liam-," I started, but he shook his head and he threw his lips on mine and tangled his hands in my hair. I was a bit taken back, but I melted into the kiss and wrapped my arms around Liam as he basically straddled me while his tongue played with my own. I found the bottom of Liam's shirt and he slowly parted our kiss as he helped me peel it off.
"So much for cuddling," I mumbled against Liam's lips and he smiled as he tore my shirt off me and he looked at me, eyebrows raised in amusement.
"Niall Horan? Passing up a moment like this?" Liam asked and I smirked at him, rolling my eyes as I grabbed him and forcefully pushed our lips back together.
"Shut up...and it's Payne remember?" I grumbled as he fiddled with getting my pants off. He eyes me before I shimmied out of my pants and I hoisted Liam up to carry him down to our bedroom...guess I didn't have to worry about nightmares that night.
A/N: Hiya! So yeah, I figured maybe I'd lay off a bit with this chapter and keep it all sappy and sweet with Niam. AND YEAH SORRY I'M NOT WRITING SMUT RIGHT NOW. I DID IT ONCE FOR YOU ALL. I promise there'll be more at some point though, just not this chapter, but it's better this way. You can imagine it whatever you want hahahahaha CREEPS.
