Chapter 23 - There's always light in the darkness

His jaw fell.

(Christian) "A-Are you sure? Maybe you peed yourself. I mean... you pee a lot."

She glared at him but soon her face scrunched in pain from another contraction.

(Christian) "Oh fuck... The baby's coming." – he whispered in shock.

He started stepping back and Hannah frowned at his shocked condition.

(Hannah) "Are you okay?"

He kept glancing between her baby blue eyes and her belly where their baby was currently trying to come out.

(Hannah) "Hey, don't you dare panic on me now."

He closed his mouth and gulped loudly.

(Christian) "I..."

(Hannah) "I can't do this on my own, Christian."

He looked at her pleading eyes and instantly snapped out of his trance. He immediately made his way to her, holding her belly and planting a hand on her back.

(Christian) "Okay..." – he let out a deep breath. – "We can't go to a hospital. It's too dangerous to drive with all that rain and lightning."

(Hannah) "What?" – she asked scared.

(Christian) "Anna, you have to deliver the baby here..."

She looked around the room and then shook her head frantically, landing her eyes on him.

(Hannah) "I can't do it here."

He stood in front of her and put his hands on her cheeks.

(Christian) "Love, I'll be here with you. I'll help you bring our child into this world and to our arms. I know you can do this." – he kissed her forehead, leaning back to look into her eyes again. – "Alright?"

She nodded, not being able to contain the tears.

(Christian) "I love you." – he planted a soft kiss on her lips.

She buried her nails on his biceps, since he was shirtless and she couldn't hold on to anything else, when another contraction hit her.

(Hannah) "Oh fuck..." – she groaned.

(Christian) "Sit on the bed."

He helped her sit on the edge of the bed and then ran downstairs to try to find Lauren.

(Christian) "You need to come with me, Anna's in labor."

Her eyes widened and the guys that were in the living room as well looked at him with surprised expressions on their faces.

(Lauren) "Oh my God! That's amazing!" – she grinned. – "We need to get her to the hospital."

(Christian) "No, it's too dangerous to drive. She's having the baby here."

(Lauren) "What?! Chris, she needs to go to the hospital. No one knows how to deliver a baby in this house!"

He stood quiet, just waiting for her to realize why he really had called for her.

(Lauren) "I dropped out on my third year!" – she said once she realized what he was thinking about. – "She needs a doctor and a room full of nurses!"

He walked to the front door and swung it open. The rain instantly started drenching his feet and legs from the strength of the wind.

(Christian) "I'm not gonna risk having and accident with Anna in the car!"
