Christian's heart was beating against his ribcage so hard that he was sure everyone in the room could hear it.
(Frederic) "Everything seems alright."
Hannah smiled and Christian kissed the back of her head, sighing in relief.
(Frederic) "You look about..." – he looked closer, doing the math in his head. – "Somewhere in between thirteen and fifteen weeks. But I'd say fifteen for sure."
(Christian) "When will we know if it's a boy or a girl?"
(Frederic) "Between the sixteenth and the twentieth week."
Christian grinned at Hannah.
(Christian) "I'm gonna win, you know?"
She chuckled.
(Hannah) "I just want the baby to be healthy."
Christian's smile fell.
(Christian) "You make me look like a bad father."
She laughed at his reaction and caressed his hand with her thumb.
(Hannah) "You're gonna be an amazing father. I've told you that."
He smiled at her, biting his lip.
(Frederic) "You should, however, still go to the hospital for an appointment."
Hannah nodded.
(Frederic) "Would you like to hear the heartbeat?" – he looked between Hannah and Christian.
They looked at each other, grinning and nodded.
(Frederic) "Alright..." – he chuckled.
(Roberto) "This is our cue." – he nodded for everyone else in the room.
They all left, Arianna a little too unwillingly but Roberto thought Hannah and Christian needed that moment for just themselves.
Frederic turned the volume up and then stood from the ground.
(Frederic) "I'm gonna leave you two alone."
He followed the rest of the group to the kitchen and Christian knelt on the ground where the doctor was, still holding Hannah's hand.
(Christian) "How're you feeling?"
(Hannah) "I should be asking you that, don't you think?" – she smiled.
He kissed the corner of her mouth and she put her hand on his cheek, caressing it softly.
(Christian) "You have no idea how happy I am." – he whispered.
She grinned.
(Hannah) "I'm really happy too..."
(Christian) "I can't wait to hold our baby."
(Hannah) "It's still a little until the end of the pregnancy."
(Christian) "I know but I'm so eager."
She chuckled.
(Hannah) "You're gonna drive me nuts."
He flashed her an even bigger grin but then she frowned, looking at him.
(Hannah) "I said some things to you that I never meant..."
His smile fell but even though he was confused, he was worried.
(Christian) "What're you talking about, Anna?"
(Hannah) "When I first told you I needed some time to think, I never meant what you understood."
