« Third Person's POV »

Mrs. Narasaki shook her head with discontent, eyeing at the dumbstruck girl with concern.

"(Y/n). . .darling," the middle-aged woman called out as she reached towards her shoulder blade, "Are you okay?"

The small petite girl nods hesitantly as she spun around and started tending the plants with her trembling hands.

Mrs. Narasaki formed her lips into a thin line and by the next minute an uncomfortable silence dominated the shop.

Mrs. Narasaki knew Selene is bad news, she's a fallen one after all. She controls other people's minds with pain and torture, she manipulates them into making them something they're not.

And she hardly doubt she wouldn't bother her poor assistant.

As (Y/n) was tending the cacti silently, Mrs. Narasaki marched towards her personal office and came to pick up a talisman that was passed down on their clan's every generation, she kept it inside a treasure chest that camouflage on her wooden table.

It has rubies encrusted on it, intricate designs were made with fine gold and silver that could blind any supernatural.

It has a spell that only her great grandmother knew and she came to a decision that she'll give it to the (h/c)-haired girl.

"Here." She poke over (Y/n)'s shoulders and handed her the talisman, (Y/n) took it with a puzzled look visible on her face.

"What's this ma'am?" She asked politely, observing the talisman with amazement and awe. It looked pretty ancient and she could feel a very thick aura surrounding it.

"It is ought to protect you from any harm." Mrs. Narasaki explained as she ushered (Y/n) to wear the talisman.

(Y/n)'s eyes shot wide as she carefully put it back unto the woman's palm. "I can't accept that Ma'am, it's for you." She said with a soft tone.

Mrs. Narasaki shook her head slowly, a slight smile formed on her wrinkled face. "I'm not going any younger my dear," she offered the talisman to (Y/n) again but the (e/c)-eyed girl just shook her head with disapproval.

"But Ma'am, it's meant for you, it's meant to protect you from any danger!" (Y/n) said firmly.

Mrs. Narasaki couldn't help but chuckle at (Y/n)'s politeness, "Oh shush, think as this as a Christmas gift for you, hmm?" She gave her an eye-smile as she put it unto (Y/n)'s palm and closed it tightly with her fingers.

"T-Thank you. . ." (Y/n) stuttered out as she looked down at the ground. Mrs. Narasaki acted like she was her very own mother and she totally appreciate it, it made her heart soar with happiness, she never felt love since her mother died.

She stare at the talisman once more, "Now, child. Wear it for me forever." She insisted as she gestured (Y/n) to turn around,

(Y/n) obliged and let Mrs. Narasaki put the talisman on her neck.

She smiled with content as she touch the necklace feeling it's hard yet delicate stone. "I really appreciate it Ma'am."

The sun already set and the star was already twinkling,
(Y/n) couldn't help but admire the glistening moon that gave light to her path.
