Chapter 2

I walk out of the room with a smug look on my face. I loved embarrassing my brother but it came with consequences.

"What was that?" Alex asked.

"Um I don't know" I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Not only did you turn up late but you decided to embarrass me. Do you know what that makes me look like?" he asks.

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to answer or not but he was being too serious so I decided to push his buttons a little more.

"You looked like a tomato before so I'm gonna say you looked like a capsicum" I say. "But I'm not sure that a capsicum would suit you I mean--"

"Do you think I find your immaturity funny?" He says cutting me off.

"It's rude to cut people off," I say.

"It's also rude to not answer a question when asked,"

"Are you done lecturing me? I thought we had a meeting to attend?" I say with a smug look.

Alex ignores me and walks back to the meeting.

"...So we have five new recruitments coming in today....."

I zone out of Alex speech and think of all the other things I could be doing.

Like....

Shopping.

Shopping would be so good right now.

"Ally do you understand?"

"Yep" I say hoping that was the right answer.

"So can you repeat what I just said?" he asks

"Nope. This is boring. I'm going goodbye" I say not bothering with this stupid meeting. It's pointless really, I don't get a say in anything so I'm not sure why I needed to be there.

"Sit back in your chair NOW" Alex yells at me.

"Make me" I say.

He walks over to me, well he is kinda stomping due to how angry he is at me. He grabs my arm and pulls me outside.

"How dare you!" he yells.

"How dare i? You are the idiot that runs this gang. I don't even see how its a gang you don't even so do anything, it's more like a boys club and you can't even control your own sister. How can you even manage to control the gang" I yell at him.

One thing I have learnt is to never insult his position as leader or his gang. I did both in my mini rant.

Before I can even say another word Alex slaps me.

This isn't the first time Alex has slapped me. The first time was when he became the gang leader and I continued to yell at him.

~Flashback~

"Alex?" I ask as I hear someone stumble through the lounge room.

"Are you drunk?" I ask him

"No, I'm not but I have some news to tell you" he says

What could be so important that he has to tell me at 1:30 am.

"Yes?" I ask

"I'm the leader, I'm the leader of the lighters" he says

No, no he couldn't be.

"No, you can't, you need to decline the offer, you can't manage a whole gang" I yell at him

"Excuse me?" he says

"I said you can't be the leader"

"Who are you to tell me what I can and can't do?"

"I'm your sister, the only family you have left. You are basically signing your death wish by becoming leader" I yell at him. I haven't spoken in a calm tone since I found out the "exciting" news.

"I am the leader! deal with it!" he yells back at me.

"Then I am no longer apart of this family, I'm leaving" I say

I expect him to calm down and at least talk to me but he doesn't neither of those. Instead he walks closer and says..

"No you are not. You are never leaving me"

"Whatever, I'm not talking to you when your being a dick"

"Excuse me?" he says obviously not expecting me to say that

"I called you a d- "

I was interrupted with my brother slapping me.

He slapped me.

My brother slapped me.

He use to always follow the rule of real men don't hit women. I guess that changes once you join a gang.

"You deserved it. Now get out of me sight before I do it again" he says coldly to me.

~Flashback over ~

That was the day I lost my brother, he turned into a man who always let his temper get the best of him and would punish me if I was in the wrong. He never let any other man hit me -which was good- but he still did.
