Ch5. New threats

I walked out of the cafeteria with Parker following behind me wondering what was so important that he had to make that big of a scene. I turned my head back to look at him and slowed down my walking so that we were side by side even though he was only a few steps behind. "I hope you don't mind that I brought you out here. It's just a lot more quiet and there aren't a whole lot of people staring you down as you talk." Parker explained. "No, not at all. To be honest I'm glad you did, it's a little bit intimidating in there." Parker chuckled slightly.
"Really? You didn't look bugged by all the staring and glares that you got. I'm impressed." I smiled and looked away from Parker nervously. Something was stirring inside me and I didn't know what. Suspense maybe?! We came to a halt after walking about twenty metres in a comfortable silence. "So you're probably wondering what I wanted to talk to you about." And I was so I just nodded in agreement to let him know to go on. "We're partnered together on that Shakespeare assignment as you already know and I was wondering when you wanted to get together to go over it?" I felt a pang of disappointment snap inside of me. That was all he wanted to ask me?! Stupid English work?! "Oh, um, well I'm free on Thursday if you wanted to meet up at the library then?" I tried not to show my disappointment. What was I even expecting him to ask me anyway?! If I wanted to go out with him?! No! You cannot think that Courtney. You already have a boyfriend. Crap! I need to call Oscar when I get home, I haven't talked to him in days. "Yeah Thursday works for me. And, um, I wanted to ask you" why did he seem unsure of something. He pretty much oozed confidence whenever I saw him. "So my parents are out of town tonight and I was wondering, if you would like to come" shock, shock and gratefulness was all I was feeling right now. Oh and happiness of course. I was feeling very happy. He could probably see that in the huge smile on my face right now though. "Yes! I mean, I would love to come." Parker flashed his pearly white teeth at me and then just, stopped. "Your friends can come too. You know, so you know other people there." Generous and thoughtful! "It starts at 8, can I have your number so I can text you the details." I handed him my phone but not before I noticed that he was holding his breathe waiting for me to give it to him. He stood up straight from the lockers that he started leaning on a little while ago and smiled once again. "Great, I'll see you there."  Parker said with a twinkle in his eyes. He handed me back my phone before turning around and walking away. Greeting some guys who were up the corridor.
I stood there a few seconds after he walked away trying to comprehend what just happened. So we are meeting in the library on Thursday, me and my friends are going to his party tonight and, I just gave Parker my phone number! Omg. I smiled and turned back to go reunite with my friends when I was stopped just metres away from the set of double doors by the one and only Natalie. Of course followed by Monty and Hailey. They were a bit taller than me but if we took our shoes off we would probably be the same height considering the size of their heels. "Well, well, well. If it isn't the new girl" Natalie snarled at me. Be nice Courtney, be nice.
"Hi, I'm Courtney."
"Oh I don't care who you are honey. Unless you don't stay away from my man. We were made for each other." What now? This chick really is delusional.
"I'm sorry, your man?" I asked a little bit less nice this time.
"You will be if you keep this act up and yes, my man! He belongs to me so I suggest you keep your grubby little hands away from him or you will suffer the consequences." Oh hell no! Parker may not be mine but no b!tch is going to threaten me like that. "First of all Natalie" I said her name with a bit more attitude, and by this time, I was no longer being nice. I took a threatening step forward and Natalie took one back. "Parker and I aren't going out but what's not to say that we won't, secondly, I know for a fact they he isn't going out with you either and if he wanted to would have by now, lastly, don't you ever threaten me ever again because you have just no idea who you will be dealing with. Got it?!" Monty and Hailey exchanged a scared look and Natalie had a shocked look on her face but quickly covered it up with a disgusted/mad one. "Whatever! Just stay away from him." And with that she quickly pushed past me and walked away with her two minions scurrying away after her. One glaring at me as she did so. Now they know where they stand. I walked back into the cafeteria slightly annoyed now and sat down with a huff. "Wow, what's wrong with you?" Max asked.
"Who cares? What did he say?" I looked over at Alisha with an even more annoyed look saying really? Did you really just say that? "Alisha! Can't you see that she's upset about something? What's wrong Courtney?" Breeana asked with a look of concern. Alisha now had a sheepish look on her face and mouthed sorry so I slightly nodded to let her know that it's ok. "Thanks Bree, it's just those stupid barbie doll wannabes. They threatened me to stay away form Parker who is apparently Natalie's man." A look of shock appeared on Bree and Alisha's face. "Who does that b!tch think she is?" Bree asked no one in particular.
"Anyway, Parker invited us all to his party tonight." I said feeling better at the thought of him wanting me to go to his party AND house. "Hell no!" Harmony said firmly. "There is no way I'm going anywhere near his place or party."
"Oh come on Harmony, it'll be fun. Finn might be there." Bree said persuasively with an edge of excitement. "Fine! But only because of Finn, nothing else." Harmony said giving in. I now assume that Finn is Harmony's crush. Greyson looked up with a slight smile. "So it's final then, we're all going to Parker's party." Max announced.
