I step inside and the scent of lavender fills the air around me. The smell assures me that I am home.
'Hellooo, I'm home' I shout but no reply. Where is everyone? I wait impatiently for a reply. But nothing.
I hear a noise coming from the stairs, a dark figure stood standing at the tip of the stairs. Abigail. My little sister. 'Hey your back' she tells me 'It's a bit late don't you think?' she slowly makes her way down the stairs.
'Yh' I scratch the back on my wrist 'where's mum?' I ask, changing the topic.
'She's in the kitchen cooking something for you' she replies, waving her hands at the door behind her.
'Oh it better not be Chinese again' I groan and shake my head.
'No it's Italian today' she mocks.
'oh haha very funny' I smirk, punching her arm playfully.
'well I'm off to bed' she yawns 'goodnight Harry'
'Goodnight Abigail' I pick my arms up asking her to come over. She rolls her eyes and drags herself in my arms. The scent of mint and strawberry shampoo fill my nostrils. The scent I can never forget. She looks up to me and let's go to walk back up the stairs. I smile and hold back the grin and start to walk towards the kitchen where my mum is humming to herself while cooking.
...
'Ooh hello Harry' my mother says tunefully.
'Hello mother' I walk towards her an kiss her on the cheek. She returns the kiss and turns around to face me.
'So where have you been?' she asks me.
'Oh just went out with some friends'
'You mean with Niall?' her tone drops. 'Yes not that it's any of your business' I answer back.
'Actually it is my business because he's not a good friend, you've been spending a lot of your time with him rather then us...your family' she tries to tell me.
I turn to look at her to see her eyes glistening...shes going to cry. But she doesn't, she keeps firm and stays strong for the sake of everyone. She doesn't plan on breaking down ever since dad left. She's been the rock of this family.
'Anyway' she breathes in and out 'Abigail is going to a party tomorrow night and she won't be back by late so you don't worry about her' she tries to change the topic.
'Abigail? A party? I don't think so, she's not old enough yet to be going to parties'
'Oh come on Harry she's nearly 20, how long do you expect her to stay trapped in this house?'
'I don't care, she's still too young' I warn her as I walk out of the kitchen giving her one last smile. I lift my feet up to go upstairs, I walk towards my sisters room and open the door slowly.
'Abigail?' I whisper, I stick my head in to see her sleeping.
How fast did she grow up? I rub my eyes to capture the tears that try to escape and walk out of her room.
