Regrets - chapter 45 (SHES OKAY)

'Is she okay?' I ask the doctor.

'It's too early to say' he starts 'she's in critical condition as she's lost a lot of blood, also as she's been hit directly in the stomach, it's caused a lot of problems with the procedure to happen faster however you're quite lucky as the bullet missed her heart by just a few inches'

He stops as Niall rushes past him and towards the operation theatre. Just as he's about to enter, a nurse steps outside 'I'm sorry sir but you cannot come inside as we are in the middle of an operation'

A figure grabs onto Niall's shoulder and pulls him into an embrace 'it's alright son, it's all going to be okay' Niall looks up 'dad?' his eyes widen as he recognises the man standing in front of him and pulls back.

'Why are you here! Go away! She doesn't need you! I don't need you!' He falls to the floor with his back to the wall.

'Niall please, you have to listen to me' he pleads.

'NO! You cannot walk in here thinking I'm going to forgive you! That's not how it works! You need to leave!' He turns his face away from him 'why are you here anyway! Who called you here!' He questions.

'I did...' We all turn to face the door where the voice came from. Niall's mum.

'How...mum, why?' Niall whimpers.

'He just wants to talk, Niall he wants you to listen' she tells him.

'NO! Do you know why? Because that man right there!' He points towards his dad 'left us for alcohol and drugs! He left us on the streets! We had to care for ourselves! I was nine for gods sake and Megan was seven! He ditched us! He left us...he left you, mum...for another woman! And you want to give him another chance? Go ahead! You can forgive him, but I never will!' He stands up from the floor and leaves the building.

Niall's mum doesn't look up front the ground as tears roll down her cheeks and fly onto the floor.

'I'm sorry' she starts 'I was stupid for inviting you here, you shouldn't have come here' she tells him.

'It's fine I understand I should leave. Just let Megan know that I was here' he tells her while kissing her on the forehead.

He then walks towards me shaking my hand and nodding 'nice to meet you son' he says. I nod back as he makes his way outside the building.

'I don't think we've met properly' she says, raising her gaze from the ground 'I'm Megan's mother, as you know, you can call me Anne'

'I'm sure you know me quite well' I try to break the tension and smile 'I am dating your daughter of course and maybe even friends with Niall'

'Ahhh of course, the famous Harry Styles' she smiles back' the boy who kidnapped my daughter but then decides to save her too, wait, should I be angry at you? or thank you for releasing my daughter from a pair of psychos?' she laughs.

'Well, let's just say it all didn't go to plan'I roll my eyes.

'What kind of mother am I?' she starts 'I'm laughing while my daughters in intensive care and laughing with the boy who kidnapped her' she half laughs but you know she wants to cry.

'Im sorry, it wasn't supposed to happen, I love her but those idiots wouldn't listen' I explain but she stops me.

'You don't need to apologise' she looks down to the floor 'I know why you did it, I know what Niall did to your sister and I'm very sorry on his behalf' she's about to cry again but she stops as a nurse walks out from the room and sprints towards us.

'She's out of intensive care and is now resting' The nurse explains. Anne starts to whimper and I let out a sigh of relief.

'You can go in' she tells us before walking away.

We both rush inside but before Anne sits down she rushes into my arms.

'She's okay!' Anne cries as I hold her letting her release all her tears.

'She's okay...' I tell her comfortingly letting the tears escape my tear ducts along with another sigh of relief.

Sorry for the really late update, I've got exams in less than a week and I was just so busy revising.

Okay so I have a whole month of exams but then straight after that, I will post two chapters as a special.

So I hope you like this chapter even though it's short :) love you guys)
