The rest of the day went by so quickly. I think it must have been the quickest so far. Sitting on the bus, I thought about what lessons I had tomorrow. I checked my schedule and saw I had a shit day...well shit.
As I got off the school bus, I could see my Dad standing at the window. Then I saw him move. He's going for the door Alex, you're in big trouble.
As I stepped down off the creaky bus I saw the front door open and then my Dad with a phone in his hand. Leaning against the door frame very casually.
"Yes Mr Davis she's just got home... I will speak to her now...Okay then... Tada bye." And he hung up the phone. Sliding it into his front pocket of his denim jeans. He looked so serious, his eyes pierced mine and I looked away quickly.
He was pissed off...
"Hi Dad how was your" I was quickly cut off
"Living room. Now." He said and moved out of the door way so that I could get past.
"Day?" I mumbled to myself.
The new house is very opened plan, so I walked straight past the kitchen and into the living room. He then pointed at the sofa, ordering me to sit. I quickly sat down. He was not playing around today.
"Your Head Master called me today" here we go, "he said you were late for school this morning, and that you disrupted Mr Harris's science lesson. You've been given a hours detention for school tomorrow. This is your second day at the school Alex and you're already setting a bad example. What have you got to say for yourself...hum?" He said with a very Dad tone. He looked straight at me and didn't blink until I said something.
"I'm sorry Dad" I said looking back down at my hands
I looked at my phone and saw that I had three missed calls from Daniel and six messages. Bloody hell.
I looked back up at my Dad, he was still stating at me, with his arms crossed. He was about to say something when a letter came through the door. It was the first letter I had seen since we have been in the new house. Dad walked over to the door to see what type of letter it was. Maybe it was for me. Maybe it was something good. Boarding school instead? He opened the letter and started to read what was inside. He paused a minute before looking at me.
"It's just a letter from work..." Dad said, thank god for that "I got promoted!" He loudly belted to me and ran over to pick me up. Twirling like a ballerina.
I was so confused, I looked down at him he didn't seem mad or anything he was so happy.
"Omg Dad that's great!" I shouted back for joy with him and hugged him tightly. "When did you find out?" I asked before being put down on the sofa. Dad sat opposite to me on the arm chair.
"At work yesterday, I've only been there a little while but I've been working so hard to get the extra money Al" he gave a massive grin and spoke again. "As this is a mini celebration, let's forget about school and order a take away. Chinese? Indian?"
I looked puzzled by the fact he had completely forgotten about school...what about my detention? But who cared! I wasn't in a hurry for him to remember again "Ooh Chinese please Dad, can we watch that film that you rented the other day?" I gave the biggest grin ever
"I suppose" he said with a smile back, "but don't think I haven't forgotten what you did today Alex" he said with a stern face as be reached for his phone in his pocket
Fuck he remembered
