Prompt:Your superpower is the ability to break the 4th wall. Both heroes and villains laugh at your make-believe superpower. Little do they know you're good friends with the narrator.

Narrators POV:
"Mark arrives at the heroes convention," I read, excited.

"Wait, what?" Mark says, confused, as he teleports to a convention center in Arizona. "What the heck! I just woke up!"

"Sorry, but I read about the Hero's convention and couldn't wait to bring you, since you're a hero now!" I say, barely containing my excitement.

"I mean, I guess," he says, sounding uncertain. "I don't have any real powers though."

"Really? What do you call being able to hear me? I call that a power," I say, encouraging.

"Alright!" he says, sounding more sure of himself. He begins walking into the convention.

In there, he sees Heroes and non-heroes alike.

Suddenly, a boy around his age walks up to him.

"Hey, name's Daren, you?" He asks, extending a greeting hand.

"Mark," Mark replies, accepting it with a firm hand.

"So, you here to meet you're favorite hero or," he lowers his voice, trying to sound serious, "are you a hero in disguise." he says, joking.

"Actually, I am a hero."

"Daren stares Mark down before he bursts out laughing, "good one.

"Seriously, I actually am a hero."

"What's your power, then?"

"I can talk to the Narrator."

"The Narrator? Is that a hero?"

"Nah, they're the one that brought this story to life."

"What story?"

"Right. Sorry if I give you an existential crisis, but this is all just a story and we're all characters."

At that Daren burst out laughing, "Nice one, you had me going there for a second."

"I'm not joking!" Mark says, getting irritated. He takes a deep breath, calming himself, "Anyways, do you know where the other heroes are?"

"Yeah, they're in their secret changing room. They'll be coming out in a little. We just have to wait 'til they're ready since they don't want us to see them unmasked."

"It's alright if I see them, since I'm one of them."

"Do you really think I'm going to believe you after that ridiculous story?" Daren scoffs.

Mark rolls his eyes, "Whatever," he says, before leaving to find the Heros.

Eventually, Mark finds them in a not so secret room. As he opens the door he sees all of his favorite heroes; unmasked and revealed.

They all stare at him.

"You need to get out of here little boy," Captain Powers says, beginning to shove Mark out the door, "and don't tell anyone what you've seen."

"It's ok I'm a hero, too."

At that he stops, "And what's your power?" he asks.

"I can talk to the Narrator. And, before you ask, the Narrator is the one who brought this story to life. I know this might confuse you, but we're all characters in a story."

All the heros laugh.

"Narrator, can you please do something to get them to believe me?"

"I'll do you one better, and more efficient. I'll teleport all of you to where the book says The Clone's going next."

"Awesome!"

I skim through the story, looking for the next appearance of The Clone. "Ah, here it is!" I begin to read the unsettling passage, "'Mark and the other heros arrive at Virginia, where they were about to discover The Clone wasn't what they had expected at all'."

"What," Mark exclaims, sounding as shocked as I am.

"Where are we," Neon Mask asks.

"Virginia. Although I don't know where exactly, since the Author's very vague." Mark says, rolling his eyes.

"I thought you could talk to the Narrator," Captain Powers says, finally believing Mark.

"I can, but they can talk to the Author."

"Alright, what are we doing here?" Neon Mask asks.

"I have this villain, he's my clone, and I have to stop him."

"Looking for me?" Pyro Inferno says.

"Pyro Inferno?" Blue Hornet questions, confused.

"Some call me that, others call me," he shape shifts into The Clone, "The Clone. Though, I do have a True form and name," he says, smiling devilishly. He shifts into a horendous beast. "I am Shifter, pleased to make your acquaintance," he smiles and bows mischievously.

"I'm just gonna end this chapter here," I say, abruptly.

"What!? Right when we're about to take on the villain? I don't think that's a good idea," Mark says, defiantly.

"Come on, haven't you ever heard of a cliffhanger? Leaving the reader wanting more!?"

"Fine," he says turning to the other heroes, "the Narrator says they're ending the chapter here. We'll have to wait 'til later to fight the shifter."

"Fair enough, I didn't get a chance to grab my mask which enables my powers before the Narrator brought us here, so I'm fine with waiting 'til later," Neon Mask says.

"Alright, Narrator can you bring us back to the convention center?"

"Of course. 'The heroes, unprepared for the battle ahead, return to the hero's convention to gather their weapons and gear'."

"Thanks. See ya next chapter."

No reply.
