"Should we wake them up?" asked a voice.

"No, let them be. It's kinda cute." Another voice said.

"But they've been sleeping for hours. Why can't we just wake them up? " The first voice asked.

"Just let them be. They've had a long night." Said a third voice. Why can't they just let me sleep? I opened one eye then another before siting up to look at the people in front of me.

"What do you guys want? It's too early to be awake."

"Shhh. Be careful Jessica. Don't wake up Ponyboy." Said Sodapop

"It's breakfast time. You've been sleeping for a while now." Steve said.

"What?" I yawned. "That's not fair. Why do I have to get up and Ponyboy doesn't? You should have woken him up first" I retorted.

"Well if we knew you were going to wake up grumpy..." Soda trailed off at the end. I picked up the nearest pillow and threw it at him. All of this commotion seemed to awake Ponyboy from his sleep.

"What's going on here guys?"He asked groggily.

"These idiots decided that it would be good to wake us up." I yelled in a grumpy voice. It seemed like he didn't notice me because when he heard my voice, a look of confusion crossed his face. That look was soon replaced by a noticeable blush. He is just too cute for his own good.

I then noticed Darry standing in the door frame.

"If you hurry up, there might be some chocolate cake left, unless Steve ate it all." He said. I yawned then got up to eat some breakfast.

I walked into the kitchen to get some cake from the icebox, but found it was not there. I heard a fork scraping a plate and immediately knew that Steve was eating my cake. Nobody messes with me this early in the morning! Especially if it has to do with chocolate cake! I turned on my heel and stormed into the living room where Steve was indeed eating my cake.

I ripped the fork pit of his mouth and grabbed the plate of my chocolate cake and sat down next to him to finish it off.

"Hey give me that! I wasn't finished with it!" He shrieked. He actually shrieked and it was pretty funny.

Instead of giving it back to him like he wanted, I slowly picked up my fork that was now filled with cake, and put it in my mouth, making sure to get every last crumb off.

"Mhhh this is so good!" I drawed out the so.

I looked at him and gave him a small smirk while he sat there like a little child does after their parents take away their favorite toy. I heard laughter behong me so I instinctively turned around to see who it was.

It seems that in the past few minutes, we have gathered a crowd. I see Darry leaning in the doorway with his muscular arms crossed and a smirk playing at his lips. Meanwhile, Two-bit and Sodapop are gaping at us and their eyes look like they are going to pop out.

"What's wrong guys, you kinda creepin me out" I say to them.

"Um... Did you just see what Steve did? He shreeked and pouted. Steve never does that. What did you do to him?" Soda asks.

"I don't know what your taking about." I say with a shrug. "He is always like this around me. Maybe he just likes me better than you guys." I add then take another bite of my cake

"Pft. Steve doesn't like you better. He's my best friend. I just think he has a crush on you." As soon as Soda said that, I spit out my chocolate cake all over him, accidentally of course. I then continued to cough for what felt like forever.

"Ew gross. She's like a Baby Sis to me. Besides, she's Pony's girl, I wouldn't do that." He said, scooching away from me on the couch.

"Well that's an ego booster." I muttered under my breath.

"Hey Darry?" Soda asked from the kitchen. "Do we have any milk?" he finished.

"If we did it would be in the fridge!" He called back.

"Well there isn't any there. How am I supposed to drink my milk?"

"You don't! If you want milk than you have to drive to the store yourself to get it!"

"I don't want to" Soda whined.

"Then you don't get milk in your cereal. What don't you understand about that?" Darry snapped back.

"Holy crap guys! Soda, Darry, just shut up. I will walk to the store myself and get you the milk!" I screamed. And before anyone could protest, I was out the door and walking down the street to the corner store.

As I was walking, I saw a black stingray car drive slowly by me. I didn't think it would be anything dangerous, but I walked faster just in case.

When the car rounded the corner behind me once again, I started to get a bit anxious. What really started to scare me was when the black Stingray came to a stop a few meters in front of me.

The door opened and five socs came out, all equipped with a sort of weapon. I began to run, stuffing my hand in my pocket in search of my pocket knife only to realize I left it on the counter at home.

Now running even faster, I managed to shake off the Socs. I ran around the corner behind the corner store, only to be snatched by my shoulders by one of the Soc's, Bob, I think that's what his name is.

I squirmed and kicked bit still failed to free myself from his grip. I screamed when I saw another Soc - Randy- put a blindfold around my eyes.

Bob covered my mouth with his hand, but I bit down hard, drawing a bit of blood in the process.

"You little shit!" He screamed.

"You shouldn't have done that." He said. Still, I bit down harder, refusing to give in. I refuse to show them how scared I am. I can't. I won't. That was the last thing I thought before I watched the world around me turn black.

Sodapop's POV (That's new! Haha)

This is all my fault. If I hadn't asked asked Darry about the stupid milk, then Jess would have never gone out. I wasn't scared until Carry started to speak.

"Soda, please don't tell me that this is Jessica's pocket knife." He said. I turned to see what he was holding, and sure enough, it was the knife. Not just any knife. Jessica's knife.

I froze, gulped and turned to look Darry in the eye.

"Um..." I said. Why wouldn't she bring it with her? Ever since the last time something happened, she always brought it with her. She did look like she was in a rush to get out of here though.

And who's fault is that? A little voice in my head asked.

"You know what this means right?" Darry asked. I nodded my head in understanding. It means that she is out there alone. Alone in our dangerous town, with not even a weapon to protect herself from the Socs.

"Yeah, I do. It means we have to find her and make sure she's safe."

With that, Darry picked up his keys and walked out the house, with me trailing right behind.
