Chapter 9

Chapter 9- Ponyboy's POV

I ran to the phone to answer it before either of my brothers could move. I just prayed it was Jessica, or someone who had news of her.

"Hello? Jess, is it you?" I rushed out before the person on the other line could speak.

"H-hello, Ponyboy. Yeah it's me. How are you?" She asked in a small voice. God, I miss her so much.

"How am I doing? Cut the small talk Jess. Where are you? Are you alright?" I asked her frantically.

"Actually, that's what I had to talk to you about." Her voice held pain and nervousness, and all I wanted to do was get to her to take it away. "I'm with the Socs."

My breath hitched in my throat.

"What did they do to you. I swear if they hurt you I will kill them."

"Well you see..." she paused, as if she was deciding what to say.

"It's all a trap Ponyboy don't come here I don't want you to get-" she cut off with an ear splitting scream, and the line went dead. I tried not to panick, but thinking of her in pain made me frantic and my heart ache.

I tried calling back but no one picked up. I tossed the phone to my brothers, not knowing who caught it.

"I don' t care what you say now, she is in danger and I am going to look for her with or with out your help. One of you should stay here while me and the rest of the guys go to look for her." I yelled while running out of the house.

After a while the rest of the boys caught up with me. Everyone was running all around town- with the exception of Darry who was staying at the house in case there was any news via phone call.

It's been a few hours of us aimlessly running through town and there was still no sign of Jessica.

"Hey Ponyboy!" Soda panted while running over to me with something in his hands.

"What's up? What's in your hand there?" I asked, pointing to the thing in his hand. Getting a closer look, I saw it was a necklace or a locket.

"It's a locket. I think it's Jessica's."

I grabbed it from his hand and looked at it again. Seeing it for the second time, I realized he was right. It belonged to Jessica.

"Well where did you find it?" I asked in a hurry.

"By some Soc's house. I think his name is Bob?" I knew where that was immediately, and started running in that direction. Jessica must be around there. She has to be.

Jessica's POV

"It's all a trap Ponyboy don't come here I don't want you to get-" I was cut of by the Soc slamming me into a wall. I let out an ear piercing scream to let Pony know I was in trouble.

"You little shit!" I told you not to do anything stupid or else you'd pay. It's time to pay the consequence." Bob said in a sick and menacing voice. The knife he previously held to my throat was moved to my arm.

"You're gonna have a lot of scars when I'm don't with you." The tip of the knife dig deeper into the skin on my upper left arm before breaking though the skin. He cut down only about an inch but it was the most painful thing I've ever experienced.

"Stop! Please it hurts. Stop it!" I cried in pain.

The knife swiped across my shirt, cutting the front of it open before moving to my right arm. He made a few more cuts there.

I could feel the blood trickling down my arm. The pain was unbearable. My bottom lip was bleeding from how hard I bit it. Tears were pouring down my face as I sobbed uncontrollably as he made the cuts deeper and longer.

Then a miracle happened. The door to the cabin opened and in came Ponyboy.

"Come any closer and I will stab her in the stomach." I shook my head at him, silently begging him to not come any closer.

Then... a few seconds later Sodapop came bursting through the doors- and before I knew it, the knife was plunged into my abdomen.

Nothing could put to words the intense burning and pain I felt in that moment. I fell to my knees with a screech before my head hit the hard floor and I passed out cold.

So it's been a year since I updated it. It was on hold for a while and then I sort of forgot about it. Whoops! I hope it won't happen again.
