Chapter 3
I love being with the pups. Playing with them, reading to them, just watching them interact with each other is amusing and entertaining. They don't act like six month old babies. They seem more advanced.
For example I could have sworn Killian was trying to walk the other day. He stands up on his own or with furniture. He is the only one out of his siblings to stand. It's really amazing to watch. Most babies at six months crawl, roll around and some can sit up. All three of them can do each. Cesare seems to actually be forming words. His babble is becoming understandable. Mia seems to understand everything I tell her. When I read to her or teach her something she really understands it. I asked her about colors and shapes and she got them all right on the first try. Is that normal? Then again when is anything ever normal for us?
"Peek a boo." I say in a playful voice and Cesare giggles.
He loves it. Killian is behind me trying to reach my hair that is in a ponytail at the moment. Mia is crawling towards the door and I can smell why.
Cam enters the room picking up Mia and tickling her. She laughs and squirms in his hold. Cesare greets his father next while Killian is to busy with my hair.
Cam sits down on the carpeted floor in front of me. Killian peeks at his father from behind my back but doesn't make any move to join Cesare and Mia.
The air is a bit thick so I speak first. "He's just like you, you know." He gives me a questioning look and I point to my hair.
"Oh." He looks down before finding my eyes again. "I need to apologize for yesterday. I shouldn't have shut you out like that. With everything that's going on we need to communicate better. Plus my wolf threatened not to shift if I didn't." Cam finishes with his signature smirk.
I could imagine Chase doing so and as Alpha that's one thing he needs to be able to do without limitations. "Really? I think a need to thank Chase... personally." I say with a seductive voice.
Cam's eyes flash dark blue then it's normal shade. I laugh. "Damn it Aspen. Do you know how hard it is to hold him back when you talk like that?"
I pout my lips and innocently shake my hand. Of course I do. "You are forgiven."
"Come here." Cam replies pulling me closer when I don't move fast enough.
"Not. In. Front. Of. The. Kids." I say in between kisses.
"Shh."
"No Cam." I say pulling away and he grunts.
Killian no longer has interest in hair. Instead he is playing with Blue.
Cam stays for a little while until he has to go off and do some Alpha duties with Paul. I place the triplets in their play pins shorty after Cam leaves for the office. With nothing else to do I look for Oliver.
After searching the top floors I'm left with the main floor, basement and outdoor areas of the land. Passing Nate and Collins I decide to turn around and go the other way crashing right in to the person I'm trying to avoid. Bass.
"Sorry, I say not looking into his eyes. His hand stays on my arm as if I can't balance myself. I wasn't paying attention."
"No need to apologize Luna it was my fault." Why is he being so nice and touchy?
I slowly pull my arm away and start to walk away. I can sense him following after me. What does he want? I turn the corner and find Oliver talking with Bailey. Levi is close by along with McKenna and Jas.
"Luna, Aspen." They greet me at the same time and I reply back.
"Oliver can I talk to you for a second?"
