"Birthdays are nature's way of telling us to eat more cake"

WIPING THE WINDOWS HARDER than she was supposed to do, Allie listened with gritted teeth as Cecilia, Jonathan's Prep's queen bee, and her minions flirted shamelessly with Declan. Her boyfriend! Of course, Declan was oblivious to the fact that they'd found interest in him as he continued serving them like how he'd serve other customers.

"So, Alexandra is your girlfriend?" Allie heard Cecilia asked in a seductive and breathy tone. She could already imagine the way she batted her eyelashes and exaggeratingly pouted her lips.

"Yes, she is," He replied.

"Well good for you," She said, the sarcastic tone evident for anyone to hear. "You look like a... good, couple. But I couldn't help but wonder if you know about Michael? Her boyfriend?" She let out a sigh. "Poor guy was in a mess without her. I mean, I definitely understand. They've been together for years,"

Allie frowned, looking at them over her shoulder. She couldn't help but feel scared of what Declan would think about that. And what the hell was that... stupid slut saying about him being her boyfriend?! She watched in anticipation as Declan paused (his back was faced towards her).

"I am well aware about a guy named Michael. But I also know that they are no longer together. Allie is my girlfriend and I am her boyfriend - that is the only thing matters to me. Frankly, I don't care about anything else. She's perfect. We're perfect. Please, excuse me," Declan then took the empty tray and walked towards the workers' lounge room, jaws clenched in annoyance.

Feeling like her heart could burst anytime, Allie then rushed towards the workers' lounge room and felt extremely delighted to find that he was alone. She watched with an overwhelming feelings in her chest as her boyfriend turned around, a confused expression on his face upon seeing her at the door. His lips were parted as if he was about to say something but didn't have the chance to when she leaped up at him, her arms and legs around his body and smashed their lips together.

Declan was still as a pole for a few seconds and he quickly pulled away, not missing the hurt in Allie's eyes when he did so. He smiled at her, cheeks flushed bright red and all. "My glasses is in the way,"

Giggling, Allie took the glasses off and went to kiss him again as his arms tightened around her. She ran her fingers through his hair, clutching them tightly, kissing him with all her heart and praying that her feelings were well received by him in many ways that words couldn't describe.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

Declan bent his knees and cupped Allie's face gently in his palms, placing a small lingering kiss on her lips. He let out a small sigh when she circled his torso, deepening the kiss. The kiss lasted for a few minutes and he pulled away gently, forever keeping the blissful look in Allie's face as he did so and pecked her on the forehead.

"Declan," She said. "I'm really sorry about what my friends did earlier. Well, they're not really my friends, but still," Allie sighed. "Cecilia's just trying to make me look bad in front of you,"

Frowning, Declan pushed her hair to the back of her ear gently. "Don't worry about it, Allie. I don't care what your friends or ex-boyfriend thinks about you or us. You're perfect,"

Allie huffed. "But I'm not. I'm extremely insecure, kind of clingy and possessive and I want you to look at me and only me," She bit her lower lip. "Oh and I gained weight lately. I checked,"

He chuckled, amused. "Allie, your weight is the least of my worries, honestly. You are a beautiful person," He paused, his eyes wandered around her face. "Extremely beautiful,"

She grinned. "You're just trying to make me feel better," Allie then sighed and took a step back, wrapping her arms around herself. "You should head home, Declan. It's late,"

"Alright," He spoke and went inside his truck. "Good night, Allie. I'll text you when I'm at home," Declan then watched as Allie bit her lower lip before suddenly, pressing her lips against his in a sweet, lingering kiss.

"Sorry," She chuckled. "And yes, good night,"

Ignoring the warmth in his cheeks, Declan went to start his engine and looked at his girlfriend once again - so beautiful and so perfect - and said with the most serious face she'd seen, "I wasn't trying to make you feel better, Allie,"

Planting a kiss on Allie's knuckles, Declan brought her hand to his chest and smiled when she did, so beautiful and so perfect his heart could explode. They were currently lying at the back of his truck, a soft mattress laid beneath them. Mrs. Durant had been kind to let the both of them early today so Declan took the chance to spend it with Allie.

They went to the shopping complex in the town, window shopping and sightseeing. He didn't brought that much of a money today and he left his card back at home, so he couldn't treat his girlfriend in a candlelight dinner. But Allie was perfectly contented with McDonalds. God, she is perfect.

It was Allie's idea to lie on the back of his truck and stargaze. Allie and Declan had been together for almost a month and a half now and those days had been blissful. They'd went to several dates - most of them were impromptu - and Declan could feel his love for Allie intensified and strengthened every single day.

He'd seen, experienced and understood Allie's flaws and for those qualities, he couldn't help but love her more. Albeit, the simple three-worded sentence 'I love you' never been spoken between them.

Allie snuggled into his chest, burying her face in his neck and sighed in content it brought shivers down his spine. "Thank you for the perfect impromptu date, Declan," She whispered and Declan smiled, tightening his arm around her small body. "I loved it,"

"Are you sure?" He whispered back, chuckling softly. "I didn't bring that much money today. I was going to buy the chocolate cupcake you were ogling at earlier,"

She chuckled. "I was just admiring the design, Declan. Besides, I could get myself a cupcake at the café anytime I want. And yes, I am sure," Allie then went to put her chin on Declan's chest, planting a soft kiss on his lips and giggled when he grinned at her. "By the way, congrats on once again being offered to sketch the principal's portrait. Who knew my boyfriend is so talented?"

Declan chuckled, running his fingers through his hair. "I wasn't sure if I could finish it in time, I told him, but I will try," He grinned. "With the money he's paying me, I could buy you anything you want then,"

Allie frowned. "But that's your money, baby. You shouldn't spend them all on me,"

"I love spending my money on you, Allie. I don't care about it, I care about making you happy," Declan spoke.

"Being with you makes me happy and that is all," She frowned, slowly pulling away. "It's not your money that makes me happy, Declan. I'm happy to be with you, as you are,"

"I know that," He smiled, taking Allie's hand. "But at least let me spoil my girlfriend sometimes, okay?"

Allie then snuggled into his chest and bit her lower lip, letting Declan's warmth soothed her. "Only if you let me spoil my boyfriend, too," She chucked when he did and she looked up to him, eyes gentle and twinkling in delight. "You make me so, so happy,"

Declan smiled softly. "Right back at you," And gently kissed her.
