You were playing with your fingers under the table. You looked at your watch. 6.32pm. Your boyfriend was supposed to arrive by 6pm. You were at a fancy restaurant, waiting for your new boyfriend. You reached earlier in case he came earlier and had to wait for you for a long time. However, he wasn't turning up. The waitress has been coming to you asking for your order, but you told her to wait a little more and gave her a small smile. You hoped he was just late.
People around you gave you worried looks, as though they pity you for the fact that you've been sitting there for so long waiting for the arrival of your boyfriend. You tried to call your boyfriend again. You didn't want to call him too many times as he may think that you're too clingy and obsessive, so you were quite cautious.
The continuous rings at the other side of the line didn't seem like it'll stop soon. Again, your boyfriend didn't pick up his phone. You silently sighed and anxiously looked outside of the restaurant. You eyes were scanning the whole street, which was getting darker and darker as time passed. The weather also looked like it was about to rain, and you were slowly getting cold as you were in a dress and high heels. You saw a lot of passers by, but none of them were the guy you've been looking for. It was almost an hour, and you planned to leave the restaurant. It already started raining, but you didn't really care although you will be drenched. You were embarrassed, having to sit there for close to an hour, not ordering anything, and eating or drinking nothing except for a glass of plain water. You see people come and go, yet you're still in the restaurant. You see a lot of couples, which made you envious. You slightly teared up thinking about your boyfriend.
Douchebag.
As you were about to leave, you see a guy ran in the rain, towards the restaurant. He entered the restaurant, and he was panting for air. He walked towards you and said loud enough for the people nearby to hear,
"I'm super sorry for being extremely late, the traffic was crazy."
You were confused at first, but you went along with it. He was a complete stranger, but he was nice enough to take your boyfriend's place and turn up in the restaurant, pretending to be your boyfriend so that you wouldn't be so embarrassed. As you sat opposite him, he took out his coat which were slightly wet, and placed it on your legs.
"It's slightly wet, but I hope it'll keep you warm," he smiled at you.
Is this what they mean by love at first sight?
You snapped out of your thoughts and mumbled a thanks. He spoke again, softly,
"I'm Joshua Hong Jisoo. I know it's abit- no, very weird for a stranger to be here, but your boyfriend is a bastard for leaving you here. Just go with it yeah?"
You didn't mind as he was actually quite cute. His eyes were slightly huge which was adorable, and his smile was breathtaking. His voice was soft. He looked like an angel. He sounded like an angel.
"I'm Y/N. Thank you for showing up and saving me, Joshua...?"
"Ah, you can call me Joshua or Jisoo. I'm born in the LA, I'm part korean haha. It's no problem though. It's not nice for a guy to leave a girl waiting for him for so long."
What a gentleman.
He smiled at you again, and both of you started talking to each other. The waitress came and both of you ordered your food. As you were chatting with him, you thought that he was very attractive and charming. He was a sweet guy, and you didn't get why he was single. The way he talks shows that he's well-mannered, and he smiles often. You would be lying if you said you didn't like him. After the dinner, he asked you where you're planning to go.
