*DAN'S BACKSTORY*
When Dan was 8 years old his mom died of Breast Cancer. A few weeks later Dan was diagnosed with severe anxiety and clinical depression. When he was 10 he started to cut because cutting reminded him that he still had felling. When he was 15, Dan attempted suicide because he was not only bullied by his classmates, but also his father and stepmom. Dan's only brother left for the military when Dan was 11, and he was the only one who loved him.
*DAN'S POV*
I think I am going to tell my dad and stepmom I'm bi today. I don't know how they'll react, but I'm ready to tell them. I need to. I think I'm falling in love with Phil Lester and I want my family to know how great he is.
"Hey dad, could I tell you something?"
My heart was beating faster than a car goes on the interstate. I couldn't breathe, everything was blurring, but I needed to tell them.
"I'm bi"
"What the fuck does that mean?" He responded,
"It means I like boys and girls, bisexual."
He was silent for 5 minutes, then stood up, got a beer, and sat back down.
"FUCK YOU YOU FAG!" He said to me and threw the bottle at me. He pinned me against the wall and punched me multiple times. He stopped hitting me and threw me into the basement. My head hit the wall and I blacked out.
By the time I woke up, it was dark and my dad and stepmom had left. My head hurt and my arm hurt worse than it ever had before. I touched my cheek and put it in the light of my phone. I'm bleeding... Great.
*TEXT MESSAGES*
Dan: hey I'm coming over now. I can't stay here. I'll explain later, just pick me up pretty please.

Phil: are you okay?? I'll be there I promise. I love you Dan Howell. Ill see you in a bit.
